Jem walked cautiously through the streets of Espoir, on the surface out for a typical afternoon stroll with his jade cane and hat pulled forward, the shadow falling over his eyes. His clothes are Victorian, but not quite right. He's wearing a loose-fitted shirt without a collar, a deep red silk vest. He looks more like a casual gentleman, if a bit young, than the demon hunter that he truly is. The permanent Marks on his throat, the insides of his wrists, along his arms, they are concealed by the cold weather clothes. He is used to the climate in London.
He has not been exposed to clean country air in some time, which is why Jem is looking around curiously, freely breathing it in. While he is concerned about where he is and how he arrived, a calm approach seems to be the safest one. Everything will unfold in time. And perhaps Will would leap out from behind the trees and tell him the joke was up. Or he would continue to search the village for his parabatai. Jem had a fair idea where he might be. A brothel or a pub.
