"That's another ridiculous thing you've told me, are you seriously saying the scarecrows are hostile?"
Being in Somarium for less than 24 hours made everything difficult to sink in. There was so much he wanted to just ask, but he knew Snake wouldn't know the answers; that and he'd get more than sick of all the questions. But it was nice to be outside, walking through the streets without any real worry their safety. This wasn't like their own world at all, actually, it wasn't all that bad thus far.
Espoir however, the small village in the middle of the city? That had completely caught Otacon off guard, he didn't expect such a large city to have such a tranquil town in the center.
As Frank traveled back to the church with his groceries in arm, he couldn't help but pick up the familiar gravely voice of Snake--David nearby. His curiousity as to why the older soldier was in the village piqued, he took a short detour from his course to investigate. Keeping himself concealed behind a nearby wall of cobblestone, he peers around it to make out the forms of two men walking side by each. He recognizes Snake without question but the other man remains a face he has not seen in a very long time.
The man is an associate of Snake's, one that even the youth can deem a comrade of sorts. Vanishing from this world so long ago, to see him again comes as nothing short of a surprise. Otacon, that was the name Snake called him, the name almost immediately surfacing in Frank's mind as his eyes lay fixated on the scientist. There is no danger should he reveal himself.
Stepping out from his hiding place, Frank's pace quickens only briefly as a means of closing the distance between himself and the two older men.
It took Otacon a moment to realize what was going on, he hadn't spotted Frank approaching them. The way Snake was being friendly towards the man had re-assured him, but the nerves were still present and clear as he spoke.
"A-Ah, is this someone you met here? Uhm... Hello." He tried to muster up confidence, but he was still the same old social-recluse as always. Rather than continue inquiring into the animated scarecrows, which he was now certain in the back of his mind they were either some kind of robots or possible aliens, he decided to drop the subject whilst in the company of someone else.
Had the boy had his hands free, he would have been tempted to raise a hand in a salute at the pair of older men. He thinks better of it though, opting to nod in greeting instead. He nods once to Snake and once to Otacon, acknowledging their own greetings. Though his eyes linger a moment on Otacon, sizing the doctor up, his attention quickly returns to Snake when he chooses to speak.
"David..." he begins, using Snake's civilian name, "It is not often you come to Espoir. What is the occasion?"
The way Frank looked at Otacon had made him more nervous than before. However, hearing him use Snake's real name instead of his codename was the reassurance that this was someone Snake must know well enough to trust. Either that or he'd been trying to keep his codename secret here. But it wasn't until Snake spoke did he truly become confused, there was still so much that hadn't been explained yet.
"Remember me?" A brief look of surprise struck his face as he interupted the conversation. "I'm sorry... I don't think I've we've ever met before." At least, he was certain he'd never met the man before. There was a strange sense of déjà vu that he was unable to place.
Shifting the weight of the groceries in hand, Frank doesn't miss a beat as he's questioned by the older men. "I do," he says, eyes flickering back over to Otacon. Though he trusts in Snake well enough, Otacon was someone that the youth only engaged in a few brief encounters with. He had never been given a true opportunity to decide on his own feelings regarding the doctor, "But my memories of him remain vague, substituted with information from your dreams."
Despite his words, the young soldier still appears relatively relaxed throughout this conversation - as relaxed as he can get, at least. He doesn't view Otacon as a threat at this time.

There was so much that he wanted to question at the moment, yet he couldn't quite wrap his mind around it all. Was this guy really Gray Fox, Naomi's 'brother', he had no reason to doubt Snake's words, but even then, he has a hard time believing that this man standing in front of him would become the same Cyborg Ninja that had tried to kill him at Shadow Moses.
Before he had much time to dwell on the subject that he really didn't want to remember, hearing that he'd been here before and that Snake had dreamt about him, didn't serve as much of a distraction. He began to shuffle awkwardly, his nerves were quite clear.
The discomfort Snake had anticipated is definitely there at the sound of the older man's words. The mention of his former commander causes the youth to tense, if only slightly - a subtle reaction that may escape Otacon's perception. The boy swallows, turning his head a bit to look over to Snake and meet the other soldier's eyes for a moment, a non-verbal cue to signify that he's alright, that the mention of Big Boss and the future that awaits not only the noble commander but Frank himself, is acceptable.
Frank soon turns his head back towards the doctor, his visage remaining as stoic as it's been this entire meeting, his body slowly relaxing.
"You will grow to accept what this world reveals."
