Halloween Event || Somarium Route: Begin
That previous night, those who were sleeping will have seen a strange image in their dreams. An image of a pale woman with long, raven black hair. Though her face was obscured by both the hair and shadows surrounding her, one could just feel the smile on her deep, red lips.
In a blink of an eye, the woman stood before the dreamer, deep black eyes boring into theirs before a slender finger rose and pressed against the dreamer's forehead. There was a brief flash of dark, red light followed by an instance of intense, hot, torturous pain. It was as if their head would explode. But just as suddenly, it disappeared, the heat replaced by a soothing chill.
Then, the woman was gone. Whatever dream the dreamer was having before the interruption, it had ceased completely. Instead, the dreamer would find themselves in a white, desert wasteland. Pale, shadowy figures phased in and out of focus, some familiar and some unknown.
A second more, and it all faded to black before everyone would awaken feeling no different than they had before sleeping. The costumes would still be stuck tight to their bodies, and the world around them was as desolate as ever.
However, something had changed, something they would not realize until their next dream. For those who had been touched were given a power: the power to walk through dreams. They had become Dreamwalkers once more.
Unknown to all, however, there was a catch. With this power came a great curse. They were now prone to have more nightmares, and these nightmares would be of their greatest fear -- a fear so great it would grip them and make them lose all sense of reality until awoken.
Perhaps those gifted with the power to travel through the dreams could save them. Or perhaps it would only worsen. Only time would tell.
Meanwhile, out near the strange statue in the desert, a strange, almost mechanical-like hum could be heard by those who were near it. But the source of the hum would remain a mystery for still some time yet.

[ooc: This is the signal post for the Somarium Route of the event. Those who plan to participate in the Noctaerium Route can still dreamwalk, but only while they are still physically on Somarium soil. Once the Noctaerium Route begins either tomorrow or Tuesday, those who travel to Noctaerium will no longer be able to dreamwalk unless they return to Somarium.
Remember, everyone had the same dream, and no one should realize they can now dreamwalk. But from here on out, interactive dreams are allowed. All responders will just suddenly find themselves with the ability to dreamwalk. There will be no conscious effort necessary for the dreamwalkers to invade and interact with the dream. Basically, those who view the dreams will begin to view/access it like normal, but upon actual viewing of the dream, they will be suddenly sucked into it.
Please remember that all interactive dreams should be posted only to somarium and be clearly marked. Any non-interactive/normal dream posts should stay in the journals. Refer to the official OOC Post for details and directions.
