The sky was vivid and clear in Espoir, the air crisp, laced with the spice of autumn.
It was a wonderful day to be half-submerged in the village fountain as Goemon happened to be, water drumming steadily against his back; the side of his face was slack and resting over the fountain edge as if he had once struggled to climb out and passed out from sheer exhaustion in the midst of it, one arm hanging over, knuckles just grazing cobblestones. Zantetsuken was surprisingly secure in his grasp. Thankfully, he was neither drowning, nor had drowned.
