[Alice may have been less than pleased over the current situation with Takuma, but Valjean had already adjusted to the idea of his oldest adopted child moving out of the house and becoming an adult. As different as their small home may be without his presence, the vampire teen had promised to come over often enough for dinner and family time.

However, even if his worries over the move had been soothed quickly, the father was well aware that Alice was not so pleased. So it was really no surprise at all that he found his youngest sitting alone away from the house.]

Alice. [His eyebrows raise in concern.] My dear, you look ill. How do you feel?

[She coughs and attempts to nod through her coughing.] I'm fine daddy j-just a bit of unwellness. I'm fine.

No, you are not. [And his expression turns somewhat sad as he moves a hand to her forehead.] We must get you home and into bed.

[She shook her head but stopped when it made her dizzy and she wobbled a little.] I'm not sick [She sneezed.] I-I was able to get out of bed so I'm clearly not sick.

[Sorry, my dear, but papa is far too concerned to listen. Without giving her any notice, the bear of a man scoops the small girl up into his arms.

Making sure that both her and Basil are secure, Valjean moves his Alice back home so he can tuck her into bed and smother her with care.]

[Alright... she admits this is very nice and she sneezes as she cuddles closer. She hugs Basil with one arm and Jean with the other.]

I'm not sick. [She coughs and leans her head on Valjean's shoulder.] I...

[She has another coughing fit.]

I don't feel well.

[Holding the small girl much tighter to his chest, Valjean approaches and enters their cottage in record timing.]

Shh, my dear. Save your voice. I will summon a doctor momentarily.

[He climbs the stairs two at a time and moves his adopted daughter to her bed immediately.]

[She sniffles and holds Basil close as she's been tucked into her bed. Her face is very flushed and she shivers. Having gone outside was a very foolish idea.]

[Very, but Valjean is not one to scold her.

Once she has been safely deposited into bed and her tiny shoes removed, the older man moves to the washroom to bring a cold rag to her head.]

Do you feel any worse, Alice?

I [She coughs.] don't know. It's hard to breathe.

[And that sends him into panic mode. With a heavy hand pressing the cloth to his daughter's head, Valjean calls the nearest doctor.]

[She closes her eyes because she's very tired and she just leans into his hand while hugging Basil close.]

[It takes Hatori several minutes to get there but when he does he goes with the assumption that he's allowed to walk right in. With that in mind, he comes over to where Alice and her father are before going over to his patient.]

[Valjean is content with standing behind and watching silently for now.]

Awful Dr. Hatori. [She finally admitted her head bowed.] My body aches all over.

Your father tells me you're coughing. [He takes out his stethoscope and places it over her chest to listen in.] Take as deep a breath as you can, Alice.
