Alice looked up from her spelling homework and their poem rhyming assignment with their spelling words. However, she couldn't think of what rhymed with orange. She had ten poems already and she still needed to write ten more but she simply couldn't figure out what rhymed with orange!
When she heard Takuma call her name she felt it was a much needed break. Perhaps he would know what rhymed with orange! Maybe he could tell her what rhymed with conductor as well. Although... she felt like these were such easy words! School in general felt too easy, and it hadn't felt easy before. Even her history was easier than before, and she was rather bad at history.
Alice picked up Basil and went downstairs into the kitchen. At seeing the tea she blinked a bit owlishly, not used to her brother making tea. But perhaps he wanted to talk about his day?
Takuma saw her curious expression and took a seat on the sofa, patting the seat next to him. "I need to talk to you about something, Alice", he said, trying to keep his tone as neutral as possible, which was probably worrying in itself. The whimsical vampire was hardly ever serious unless he needed to be. But being slightly serious was better than having a nervous tone of voice. He just needed to keep calm and everything would, sooner or later, be all right.
He started pouring the tea, making it how Alice liked it since he'd seen her prepare it so many other times and held the cup and saucer to her.
His calm voice suddenly put her on edge. Was she in trouble? She couldn't recall having done anything bad lately, or things she didn't think were bad. Was she in trouble for something she had thought was fine? Oh dear... that was a much longer list. She sat down next to him and set Basil next to her before taking the tea.
"Oh thank you Takuma," perhaps she wasn't in trouble? But if she wasn't in trouble why was he so serious? Was this Halloween thing really that dangerous? Or was he worried about zoom-... zombies? She sipped the tea and blinked when it was exactly how she liked it.
Maybe he just had a bad day and wanted to spend time with her. That wasn't uncommon either. Or... wait, that was mostly her.
Her curiosity bubbled alongside her anxiety and the words blurted themselves out from her lips.
Takuma shook his head. He knew his tone was probably unnerving since it wasn't as bouncy and chipper like it normally was, but it was hard to keep up that facade and he needed to be more honest when showing his feelings.
"No, there's nothing wrong. I just needed to talk with you about something very important", he said pouring his own tea and taking a light sip from it.
"Alice, How do you feel about D?" No use beating around the bush and winding up somewhere else.

"Here you are", he said softly.
