Sorry, he's a bit rude...paradoxfelineSeptember 16 2010, 06:16:36 UTC
Wandering about Somarium was one of the things Schrodinger did best. So it was no wonder he would bump into one of the newcomer of the dreamworld. It was his ears that alerted Schrodinger of someone squashing something. His red eyes saw a person stepping around in a garden, squashing the poor vegetables that were grown there. At first, he didn't make much of it, until the person started digging in the soil. This just beckoned the catboy over, a comment ready to be uttered and a big grin of amusement plastered on his face. "Are you a dog, Fraulein, or did you lose something?"

A.B.A paused in her excevation when she heard the stranger's voice. Her fingers were filthy and there was dirt buried beneath ner nails, but she paid it no mind to focus only on the boy nearby. Being a creature with a key stuck through her head the ears that were plastered on the stranger's own didn't throw her off at all.
"I lost something, yes," she replied. "Someone and something." It didn't really click with A.B.A that she might have just been poked fun at. "I can't find my husband."
"Your husband?" Schrodinger repeated. It was easy to understand that this person was important to this girl and he would help her in his own way. The cold slap of truth.
"Well, I can guarantee that he's not there,Fraulein." He said gesturing to the spot in the garden that she had just dug up. He then broke the news to her. "Actually, I don't think he's anywhere nearby. Your husband isn't here at all. Most people who come to Somarium come alone."
Paracelsus wasn't with her? That couldn't be possible. He was supposed to follow A.B.A everywhere. Without her than someone else would surely come along and try to grab him up.
Her expression grew more tense and worried as she stood straight again and turned to face the boy. "What is Somarium?" The name wasn't a familiar one that A.B.A could place from the areas she had been to thus far. If it was explained to her than maybe she could figure out how to get Paracelsus back.
Schrodinger said simply, "It's a dreamworld. A dream inside a dream."
"Though, if you really want to make sure your husband isn't here...you should check your dreamberry." The catboy trailed off as he walked away from her, but stop abruptly to pick something up. He then showed the object to A.B.A. It was a phone, similar to a blackberry."Which you dropped."
He walked back over to her, handing her the device."The dreamberry has a list of everyone who is here. I'm sure you'll find your name and maybe your husband's name."
A.B.A took the device from him and went about turning it over this way and that. She had never used such a thing before, so it was another new item to experience and toy with. When she played with the buttons, after several minutes, she managed to find the list that was mentioned and scrolled around on the screen.
It was easy to find her name, but the further A.B.A went the more hope she lost. The row of "P's" were without a trace of Paracelsus' name and she was at a loss once again.
"He really isn't here," she said to herself. A.B.A wasn't really sure how to take such news. Paracelsus was her companion and her love. Without him she was sure she would have a much harder time making the right choices in the world.
For the time being, A.B.A tried to remain composed and turned her eyes back up to the catboy. "Is there a way I can get out of here?"
"A way to get out?" The blonde catboy laughed at that. Not because what she said was funny, but because A.B.A. was so quick to leave. Perhaps it was because her husband wasn't here, but this world didn't work that way. You came and left whenever it felt like it. That's how it went.
"There is, but you don't get to choose when that happens. It just happens. For the most part you're stuck here."
A.B.A wasn't quite sure what to make of the laughter, so she simply stared at the boy until he was finished. One hand still fiddling lazily with the Dreamberry.
"Hmm, so, I've been kidnapped." By a world it seemed. That's how A.B.A figured it. She could only hope Paracelsus would be alright on his own until she was no longer held hostage. Maybe he was even worried about her.
"Who are you and why do you look like a cat?" If she was stuck on this world she might as well learn about the first person to speak with her.
"Kidnapped? I guess that's one way to look at it." Schrodinger considered this with a thoughtful expression. It did seem almost like an abduction. But he didn't dwell on this fact, he had already come to terms with this place. And unlike most inhabitants of Somarium, he was enjoying his stay here just fine. Mostly, because there was nothing left for him in his world.
He then focused on A.B.A once more. He then cracked a smile, when she asked his identity and questioned his feline features. "My name is Schrodinger. And I look like this because I was created in likeness of a theory called, Schrodinger's Cat."
It was the first time A.B.A had ever heard of such a theory. Just one more thing for her to learn. This new world was throwing quite a bit at her all at once.
"I'm A.B.A," she replied just to give her name in return. With the search for her husband coming up empty she had nothing else to focus on but Schrodinger. At least until she had reason to be on her way elsewhere. So, she decided to sate her curiosity as much as the boy would allow.
"Can you tell me about the theory?" A.B.A asked. "I'm not familiar with it and I'm trying to learn things day by day."
"A.B.A? That's an unusual name." He said smirking, wondering if that was truly her name or if it stood for something. However, he doesn't ask her, when he's present with a question by A.B.A.
It was the first time, someone ever asked him about the details of the experiment. People either knew it, didn't care and never bothered to ask. Still, he was delighted to tell her.
"It's pretty complicated, but I'll try to explain it.The experiment was about placing a cat into a sealed box with a radioactive substance. It is hypothesized that the cat could be killed or unaffected depending on what can occur inside the box. Therefore, the cat can be both dead or alive, due to these possibilities and that both results can occur."
He finished not sure if A.B.A understood. "Do you still have questions?"
"It was the name I woke up knowing," A.B.A said in response to the remark about such a thing. It was nearly all she knew about herself.
She listened closely to the explanation given by Schrodinger and soon scrunched up her face in disgust. She wasn't exactly a very peaceful person herself, more neutral to be exact, but what she heard just didn't sit well with her.
"No, not really." A.B.A feared what else would be said if she did. "It doesn't seem like a good thing to be named after."
"Maybe." Schrodinger smiled at that, but he shrugged. He had no ill opinions of his name, because it was the only name he has known for him. The only name that would fit. "But it suits me. Thanks to that experiment I was created and given some pretty neat abilities. In that aspect, it's perfect."
"So, A.B.A, do you like standing in gardens? Or do you want to see the rest of Somarium?"
A.B.A couldn't really argue against that sort of reasoning. Not that she would. It wasn't really her place and she had just met the boy only minutes ago. A name was a name.
She looked down at her feet where she was in fact still standing in the ruined part of the garden. "I don't really like it, no. If Paracelsus really isn't here than there is no reason for me to stay in this spot."
A.B.A looked back up at Schrodinger and tilted her head just slightly. "I suppose it would be best if I did look around a bit."
"Yep. You don't know how long you'll be here. It's better to get familiar with your new surroundings." Schrodinger replied, agreeing with A.B.A's reasoning. He then turned on his heels and walked over to the walkway nearby, hoping A.B.A would follow.
The walkway was what connected all the cottages of Espoir together. The cottages, all different sizes and styles, were aligned in a straight line and arranged numerical fashion.Currently, they were by Cottage #29,near the end of residential strip. When A.B.A is near, Schrodinger began to speak."Where are in the middle of Espoir. It's the village that most newcomers arrive first."
A.B.A listened closely and made sure to file the information away as best she could. The giant key she had in her head usually made her a bit simple minded and she got distracted easily at times. So, she had to really concentrate on what Schrodinger was saying.
"So, there is a specific area that the world puts everyone? I see," she spoke mostly to herself. It was an odd concept, but not the weirdest one A.B.A had seen. She had just never been stuck in a scenerio such as this.
"And the people that are stuck here," she began as she looked back to the boy, "do they all live in these places?"
