INSIDE THE CASTLE hides_thedagger August 21 2010, 05:32:30 UTC

[Judith has taken a similar approach to avoid the guards, and is currently peering inside one of the many cracked walls, spear in hand. She's currently deciding whether or not this entrance is the safest, because large ears and impeccable hearing are confirming the fact that there are still areas caving within.

Anyone care to join or stop her?]

[He drops silently behind her, as silently as normal ears could not picked up his landing. Dastan is pretty sure Judith heard him, so he walks up and stops right behind her.]

I think I might have found a way in. It's on the other side of this tower.

[He points the tower to their right. It doesn't look too damaged, but they will have to climb to get to the window. Time to put you free-running lessons to use, Judith]

Oh, Dastan.

[She turns to give him a small smile, leaning lightly on the cracked wall.]

That's good to hear, the tower seems quite unstable on this end.

[He raises an eyebrow slightly]

....Have I startled you, Judith?

[He nods and pads lightly to the lowest part of the tower. He looks around for a moment and deftly uses the debris around to parkour his way up to a stable ledge. Crunching down, Dastan offers his hand to Judith, so he can pull him up]

Here, let me help you.

No, I just wasn't expecting anyone to find me.

[She follows Dastan to the location, and simply stares at his outstretched hand when he finished his short climb. She smiles up at him, hand ignored, and begins her own ascent.]

I can manage, a climb like this is nothing.

[He chuckles lightly as he nods, letting her climb on her own. He had not meant any disrespect by offering his hand and Dastan hopes Judith didn't take any offense in his act.

He continues to climb to the window he's spotted before. He looks down at it, listening in for a moment before moving lower himself in. Letting go of the ledge, he drops, rolling off the fall as it is quite high. The Prince looks up and nods to Judith.]

I believe this is as close to safe as we will be able to find.

[No offence or disrespect at all, and she communicates this through a small chuckle of her own. She climbs, never a foot in distance behind him, and leaps after, rolling to a stop just as he had. She nods at his words, taking a few steps further in.]

Hopefully this tower will connect to other ones as well.

Well, we will see soon enough, I suppose.

[Looking around the shambles inside the tower, the Prince finds exactly what he had been searching. Picking up a torch lying behind an upside down table, he walks forward, waiting to be unable to see anything before lighting it. This way, the Persian feels that the police outside will not be able to pick up on the light inside.

One hand reaches for a sword on his back and he looks back, waiting for Judith before pressing on]

[And Judith can hear the sound of a sword being unsheathed, so she follows suit by pulling Brionac out once more, using it to push fallen debris, items and stones quietly out of her way as she walks. She steps up next to Dastan, eyeing the torch's outline in the dark.]

Nice find. Do we have any means of lighting it?

[She gestures for Dastan to lead and potentially light the way with a smile wide enough to be seen in the darkness.]

[It's a good thing the Persian has grabbed his armor before leaving. He reaches for a hidden throwing dagger and for a rock debris, hitting them together a few time, producing sparks hot enough to ignite the oil-dampened cloth on the torch. In a matter of seconds, the room fills up with a warm light and Dastan turns around to give the young woman a small, smug smile. He's done this before, after all. The last time he had was with Tamina and the Prince pushes those memories away. This exploration is the distraction he needs from everything that happened to him in the past few days.

He walks in front of Judith, looking around for weaker spots to avoid.]

...Is Ba'ul all right? Was he in the sky when the castle fell down?

[Though he's met the best only once, he know how much he means to Judith and the young man hopes her friend is all right as well.]

[She follows Dastan, thankful for the weak yet comforting light of the fire as they walk. She stays close to him, never venturing too far from his side.]

Ba'ul said that he was fine. The Castle missed the mountain where he has been living. He said the impact shook everything quite roughly though.

[Her voice takes on a concerned tone, eye trained forward, peering into the darkness beyond the torch's light.]

And what of your friends Dastan? Are they all alright?

[Dastan nods, giving her a small smile]

I'm glad to hear that. [He chuckles lightly] Yes, I have no doubts that all of us will have some cleaning to do in the next few days.

[The Prince moves the torch around, lighting up the hallway around them by small sections. Torn paintings and crashed furniture are mostly what fills it, but the Persian can also see sands slowly creeping in throught the cracked walls. They are walking towards the part of the castle that was buried underneath the desert, it seems.]

Yes, I believe so. Ezio and Altaïr went to help a friend of theirs that got pinned underneath a wall, I believe. Princess Alice is safe at home with her father and brother and Naomi...well, I suppose the doctor is working with the guards to dispense healing to those in need.

[He tries not to sound too awkward while speaking of the other woman. Their relationship is so strained right now that he didn't even had the courage to call, resorting to text her to make sure she was all right.]

[She sighs lightly at the cleaning comment.]

Yes, we've offered up the Tavern for anyone in need of housing. I can only imagine how busy it must be right now.

[She takes note of the falling sands, hardly bothered by the fact that they've now ventured into buried territory. She does step closer to Dastan regardless, the area being much darker the further down they go.]

It's good to hear that none of them have been injured in any way. They are all welcome to seek the Tavern out should they ever need to. You are as well, of course.

[He smirks lightly at her, feeling that despite the seriousness of the situation, he still can jest with her]

Well, my cottage was not that damaged, but I suppose I will seriously consider it if you still offer me to share your room...

[He's referring to that night they drank together of course ( ... )

[Judith was about to make a cute little comment about how the offer will always stand when she picks up on the sound of the creaking, an unsettling feeling making itself known in the pit of her stomach as she realizes that her previous assumption about the tower's stability was true. This place was still crumbling in the throes of it's untimely crash ( ... )
