PUBLIC BROADCAST

[Two figures appear on the screen, but their faces are obscured due to the angle. It seems as if this was an accidental recording. The view pans around for a brief moment to show a dimly lit corridor, the lights flickering on and off, before it goes back to show the back of an older girl. After a beat, a small voice -- a girl -- speaks in a hoarse ( Read more... )

Loaded?

[Loaded means it has a lot of stuff, right? Well, that mountain looks heavy, so maybe it has stuff in it!]

Are you at that big mountain?

[Cirno's logic has never gotten her that far in life, and today is no exception.]

Ha! I guess we could give you a consolation prize for that. You've got the right direction, but no pot of gold at the end of your rainbow, honey.

Right direction.

[She looks out from the lake. Well, the mountain is out away from town, right?]

Wow, I don't even see anything! It must be really far away. I thought that it was all just boring desert out there.

You've never seen the mountains?

... Who are you?

Yeesh, you're dull. Don't you have any better questions to ask me? Like, "How's the weather?" Or, "Hey, Girl, you have some smokin' hairstylin' going on. What's your secret?" Or even, "How's the view from up there?"

The name's Chelsea, by the way. How's life?

Could you at least answer the question?

B-But 'Sea already gave you her name.

[Strange and just a little bit worrying.

Though recordings like these from mysterious and unknown people aren't exactly new, the last broadcast similar to this was only a few weeks earlier. They were usually placed much further apart, months and months. What was different now?

Naomi is curious, of course, but her bored tone doesn't give that away.] The floating castle. What do I win?

--How about a charming smile and a congratulations from an adorable little girl?

Or, you know, rights to some of the loot.

What loot would that be? The leftovers sitting inside the castle aren't of any interest to me.

Really? More for me, then. One woman's trash is another girl's pleasure, and all that bogus crap.

[Lelouch watches the broadcast, a smile on his face. Seeing things like this pleased him. He wasn't shocked, wasn't overly curious (though he couldn't deny being slightly intrigued by the broadcast from the strangers).

His eyes closed, thoughts flooding his head, as he listens to the broadcast. He wanted to know who they were what their purpose was, their connection to the Overlord (if they had one), their exact location, if he was able to reach said location, if they were useful in any way, would his Geass work on some of these "residents" of Somarium.

Something told him, though, that he wouldn't get any real answers from these two. With a smile, he looks at the Dreamberry screen.]

Ah, but it looks as if you are the only ones in that fine establishment. Taking a few souvenirs wouldn't hurt, would it?

[He chuckles]

How did you manage to get there in the first place? From my understanding, places as lavish as your current location usually have a guard or two.

Heh, I think you're my kind of guy. But c'mon--Don't you see what we're getting at, here?

[The camera swings around to reveal the halls, all of which are... completely empty.]

No one's home, Big Boy.
