Well used to greeting and speaking with strangers -not the least foreign dignitaries throughout the Persian empire- Tamina paused in her stroll and returned the other lady's smile with one of her own. She inclined her head politely and replied, "And to you, as well."
She wasn't surprised at the difference in dress; Dastan had imparted that folk here came from many odd worlds, and to be ready for a few surprises. But she was nevertheless a princess made, if not born, therefore she would play the part to the hilt.
"I do not believe we have met. I am Tamina, formerly of Alamut." She saw little reason to invoke her status; it seemed to mean very little here.
"And you," Tamina responded somewhat formally. She still couldn't help the protocol; it'd been ingrained since birth. But the Princess was still vastly curious about this new world and all its inhabitants, therefore she couldn't help asking, "Do you live in the village as well, my lady Lyn?"
Gokudera was out on another one of his walks, scowling more than normal now that the tenth's name had disappeared from the Dreamberry too. He'd let Uri free from the ring though and the cat was busy darting about, chasing something no doubt but he wasn't paying too much attention to the box weapon to notice what was happening.
It wasn't until Uri swiped at his leg, Gokudera bending to pick him up that he even noticed Tamina and he really couldn't help but stare.
The Princess spied the little cat darting here and there, and paused in her stroll to smile at its antics. So far, Dastan had been right; this place was like any other - people from different walks of life simply trying to get along with what they had. It was still so strange, however.
Tamina's gaze followed the little feline until it scampered back to the one she presumed to be its master, meeting his gaze and giving him a cordial nod. "Well met," said she, one eyebrow lifting in gentle mirth at his apparent surprised stare.
Gokudera went to nod before he really looked once Uri was safely in his grasp, disappearing back into the ring on his hand. He supposed that the one good thing about going home was that it was getting him out and now meeting people.
He'd been staying in the ever dwindling Vongola family bubble for too long.
"Hello." It was a little more formal than normal but who said well met these days? He doubted even the oldest mafia families used it anymore. "I'm Gokudera Hayato, can I ask your name?" He'd been raised well enough to be civil and polite face to face even if he was more inclined to be abrupt and possible borderline rude on the Dreamberry.
"You may. I am Tamina, formerly of the Holy City of Alamut." That "formerly" tasted sour on her tongue, but she reckoned it was indeed the truth, unless someone happened to discover a way back to their respective time and place.
But her brow quirked at the newcomer's name; it was very strange indeed and she carefully committed it to memory, as it would never do to inadvertently insult someone by mispronouncing their name, no matter its pronunciation.
The old man was just taking a casual stroll through the village. Ah, despite the changes, it really was nostalgic seeing all these old places. And there was definitely one thing he missed seeing.
All the beautiful ladies from the different worlds.
So when he saw the young lady coming from the opposite direction towards him, he just gave her a charming, old man smile and greeted her. "Nice day for a stroll, ain't it?"
Seeing yet another citizen approaching from the opposite way, she simply kept her pace; their steps would bypass in a moment. The princess wasn't surprised at the greeting; folk seemed quite friendly thus far.
Tamina stifled her grin but nodded politely in return. "It is, yes." She cocked an eyebrow in a girlish gesture and asked, "I trust you're enjoying it to the fullest, my lord?"
Her graceful manner, her polite manner of speaking...this was truly a lady of class. At her words, particularly the "my lord" part, he gave a deep chuckle.
"No need for the formalities, darlin'. I definitely ain't worthy of that title. You can just call me Raven." He then gave her a wink. "But I think my day's just gotten better."
She had to restrain herself from chuckling outright. No matter their world of origin, it seemed that men were the same. The Princess had dealt with her share of consummate flatterers before; she was, after all, the Guardian of a Holy City and dignitaries came from far and wide, seeking to curry her favor for whatever reason.
But politics was a familiar arena and she was quite skilled at the game. Thus at his introduction, she gave a small curtsy and replied, "As you like, Raven. And glad I am indeed, if your simple walk now has a bit of merit other than the exercise."
