[It had seemed like a sensible idea at the time, climbing the tree so as to study closer the leaves that were just out of his reach. And the results were satisfactory, indeed.

[Logically, yes. And of course, it hits someone on the way down, though the exclamation of shock surprises Canas, and he flails a bit more before managing to regain his balance.]

Ah...Lady Lyn. I was merely, ah, getting a closer look at the leaves of this tree?

Well--

[And a slight breeze, which does little more than rattle the leaves, but he grasps for another branch anyway.

He is not well-suited to climbing trees, no.]

[A long pause, as he considers this.]

But he slowly starts to scramble down the tree.]

Perhaps, but the quercus acutissima is known for its size; it is quite unlikely I would have been able to find one smaller than this--

[Oh dear, he's off rambling.

But still climbing down. Making progress. Good news.]

And thus I required a tree old enough to be able to--

[Too good to be true, really. He slips, being the klutz he is, and falls.

Luckily, he had climbed down to the point where it was not too bad a fall. And he lands on his back.]

Perfectly [Deep breaths, Canas] fine, yes, thank you.

[He sits up, rubbing his head, and smiles.]

Well, that worked out, I daresay.

Certainly, though I do not believe I shall attempt something like this again. There are certain to be other ways to retrieve the specimen I require that are...less dangerous.
