[He's a lot stronger than a regular human, so while the force does make him stumble and coil in on himself, he does remain upright and standing. He looks up to the best of his ability.]

On the other hand, humans seem to be very attached to the concept of 'needs' and 'mattering'. Why does something 'matter'?

The only thing that matters to a god is to kill time. Though there really isn't anything else worth 'mattering'. Humans are strange for getting attached so easily.
