[it wasn't every day she got a knock on the door. In fact, it was pretty rare. They never got visitors.]

[Still, Isabelle opened the door, tilting her head to one side at the little girl standing before her with a faint frown.]

Hey there.

[She curtsies in greeting and smiles.] Hello miss! [She holds up a flower to her.] This is for you!

[well, that was unexpected. She accepts the flower, smiling in amusement.]

Thanks. What's the occasion?

You're you! That's occasion enough!

[that's actually pretty nice. Have a grin.] I'm Isabelle.

[She gave another curtsy in greeting.] Nice to meet you Miss Isabelle! My name is Alice, Alice Liddell.

[she matches it, amused by the whole ordeal, then tucks the flower into her hair.] Well, Alice, it's very nice of you to be giving away flowers to everyone. You must have a lot of them, huh?

Oh yes! [She holds up her basket of delphiniums.] But I'm only giving one flower to each person so I may actually have quite a few delphiniums when I'm all done! It would have been very tiresome to count all the flowers with the amount of people here. So I just picked as many as I could carry!

Yeah, I can't imagine counting everyone when you probably haven't even met them all would be all that fun.

If you like, I could take another of the flowers off your hands - I've got a housemate who's sleeping right now, I think. He might appreciate the sight when he wakes up.

Oh! Why thank you. [She shifts Basil and hands Isabelle another flower.] May I ask whom your housemate is?

Simon Lewis. Magnus Bane lives here, too. Met either of them? [she takes the second flower, inhaling the scent briefly.]

Oh! I know Mr. Bane! [She hands Isabelle another flower.] He's very nice!

He certainly is something, yes. [laughing almost wryly, she accepts it as well.]
