The teenage girl had awoken earlier that very day to find she'd miraculously slept for over an entire week. And along with that confusing piece of information, she had suddenly recalled distinct memories of a much more darker life running through her head endlessly. It was all on a loop. The crimes she had so willing committed. The perverse sense of pleasure she had gotten from carrying them out. It was too much for the usually upbeat girl to take. True or false, something had to be done. Her conscience wouldn't let her forget it.
Slipping into her dark-colored suit and cape (the bat symbol had always given her a bit more courage when she needed it), Stephanie advanced swiftly from rooftop to rooftop.
It was well past midnight when the masked teenager finally arrived at the police station. Though nature dictated she should enter silently through a window, Stephanie went against her instinct and walked slowly through the front door, cape dragging lifelessly behind her.
