After a morning of expensive presents, delicious food, and a bit of loving pampering for the young lady, the man known only to one other in Somarium as Jean Valjean had turned to finish preparations for the surprise party he would be hosting in the afternoon. Attire was the first on his list that needed to be addressed.
The man dressed in his finest clothes for the party--a blue coat with matching trousers, a black tie over a crisp white linen shirt, shined shoes, and a long-brimmed hat. Though he couldn't care less of what others thought of him, he had to be respectable for his daughter. He wouldn't embarrass her, especially on a day like today.
With both food, flowers, and decorations ready before the clock struck two, Fauchelevent brought Alice out into the garden to show her just what he had accomplished for her.
The party was ready to begin.
