It was still early evening when Ichijou woke up for the night; the unbearable heat had awakened him. It was a perfect time for some ice cream. Something nice and cool so that it would make the night a lot more tolerable. Plus the company would be nice.
The vampire took a trip to the store and carried out two pints of ice cream. One was strawberry for himself and the other was just a plain vanilla bean. He thought of bringing extra goodies to sprinkle onto the frozen treat, but that would take away the pure taste of simple ice cream and it would be far too overwhelming for D. Especially since the dhampir had never had ice cream before. It had to start out simple, then D could explore on his own if he decided that he enjoyed it as everyone should.
Unfortunately, the noble was subjected to running in this heat so that it wouldn't melt from the store to D's cottage. That and there were gigantic bugs running around being *pesty. He didn't want his treat being stolen by an ant that was sinfully large. It would have made for a very irritated vampire that would have gone back to the store in this heat.
After his trek through the humidity, he finally reached D's door and knocked on it lightly.
