There you are! I've found you!

[D'awww. Such a cute child. He really reminds him of the youngest daughter of the family he serves with that cheerful energy. And so Kevin smiles.]

Yes, you have. Shall we begin to look?

[boat_lights]

[He dashes forward, and reaches out for Kevin's hand.]

Yes! Let's go look right away. Brother... I need to find brother, so I need to look for him as soon as possible!

[charientisms]

[He stands and takes the hand in his own. That way he can watch over this child.]

All right. Let's start to look around.

[He does look around, and decides on the direction towards some promising looking houses.]

[boat_lights]

[He clings on tightly.]

Okay. Let's... let's look over at where the big houses are. Brother might be in a big house, like one where Master Jack lived.

[charientisms]

[Mister Jack means nothing to him sadly, so he merely allows the child to cling tightly to him and begins in that direction. Perhaps those people in bigger houses will have answers? But he smiles down at the child.]

What is your name?

[boat_lights]

[He cranes his neck to look up at his newly adopted nii-chan.]

I'm Vincent! What about you?

[charientisms]

[He freezes at that. Vincent. One red eye, one gold eye, and the name of Vincent. It matches that note to the letter. And...If he himself somehow managed to grow younger, couldn't this Vincent do so too?

...But what does he do now? His response is automatic.]

My name is Kevin. It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir Vincent.

[What to do?]

[boat_lights]

[Oblivious, the child's smile dims, and he tugs on Kevin's hand incessantly. Slowly, he tilts his head as he walks, and while his gait is of the cheerful sort, there is a distinct lack of cheer in his smile.]

I'm not 'Sir'. You don't have to say say sir, because I'm not anybody important.

[charientisms]

[Kevin, meanwhile, is torn. He wouldn't lie to himself...would he? But...this child. He cannot mistrust this child, for he cannot stand to see this child sad. It reminds him too much of tears from the youngest of the family he serves, and he simply cannot stand it. And...this only reminds him that he has to get home. He simply has to.

He begins to walk again.]

Why do you say that, Vincent?

[boat_lights]

[As he walks, he picks up his feet straight off the ground, so that he can imagine himself to be a tin soldier. Letting go of Kevin's hand, he turns as he walks so that he is walking backwards, hands clasped behind his back and a small smile on his face that doesn't quite reach his eyes.]

Because I'm a bad person. I took away brother's happiness. Someone who takes away someone else's happiness can't be an important person, right?

[charientisms]

[He honestly doesn't know how to take this. He looks at the child for a moment solemnly.]

How did you take away your brother's happiness?

[boat_lights]

[He smiles and puts a hand over his right eye gingerly.]

My eye brought misfortune to my brother, so he isn't happy anymore. That's how it happened.

[charientisms]

[Hesitation.]

I don't believe that a red eye can bring misfortune. That is merely a myth.

[boat_lights]

[A sad smile.]

If only it was a myth. Then brother could have lived happily.

I want to find him, and I want him to meet you.
