Dagger was sitting quietly on a bench in the plaza, eyes on the church across the pathway from her. Her mind was wandering a bit, back to just before her arrival here, back to when Zidane had thrown off that cloak and surprised everyone with his return home. She had never expected him to be hiding in plain sight in the play she was watching.
It had been wonderful to see him again, to run to hi and hold him. When she had woken up here, for a few moments she had been terrified they had been separated again. But he had answered her, and was on his way to her, just like he always seemed to be. With a smile, Dagger gently smoothed her gown again, out of pure habit.
And then she heard his voice behind her, playful and strong, as she always remembered it. Dagger turned, and when she saw him, she moved around her seat so she was standing in front of him. "Not at all."
To see her there right in front of him, it was almost like a dream come true. It would have been a lie to say he hadn't missed her or thought about her within these past few months.
Though...it was a little weird to see her in the princess gown again. He had been so used to that orange jumpsuit, but that didn't make her any less beautiful. With another grin, he extended his arm out to her.
"Maybe even pass the time with a quaint stroll with the lovely princess?" Now he was definitely teasing. At least the weather has improved and it was a nice day out.
The question caused her to chuckle softly, one hand covering her mouth lightly. "The word quaint doesn't even fit into your vocabulary, does it?" she asked, but she couldn't help but lay her hands on his arm, leaning in to rest a cheek on his shoulder. Even though she had thrown her arms around him only moments before coming here, to be able to touch him again brought a warmth to her chest she hadn't felt in a while.
"But I would not mind it if you showed me around, given that you know this place well enough."

Zidane just laughed at her comment. "No, no it isn't, is it?" he grinned as he pulled her closer. In truth, he wanted to just embrace her right now, but he figured he would have a far better opportunity for that later. Isn't it better for them to just be reunited and continue on as if nothing had happened?
Sure, things might not have seemed as long for her, but for him... He just gave a subtle shake of his head before starting to lead her forward. "Oh don't worry, I know this place like the back of my hand by now. Right now you're in the village Espoir and over those walls with the tall buildings," he turned to face the city, "is the city of Somni. Just say the word, and I can take you wherever you wanna go!"

"You have been here a while then, haven't you?" she asked, looking off in the same direction he was to the skyline of the city of Somni. It was so big, and so very different than the structure of Alexandria. She stared for a moment before she tried to decide where she wanted to go. At the moment, she had walked over half of Espoir, but hadn't stopped to actually look at it. But that didn't mean she had to see it all right now.
"Anywhere you could show me would be all right. Does this village have an inn where you have been staying?"
He gave a short laugh, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand a little. "Yeah...about eight months now, I guess." It sounded so weird in his ears. Had he really been here for that long? In some ways, it really didn't feel that long at all...
"Haha, well there are some empty cottages here now, but I've actually been staying with a friend in the city. His name is Boris, and he runs the carnival." He mused for a bit. "It's kind of far though, deep into the city, and I'm not sure if that kinna place is really to your tastes." It definitely was a bachelor pad, that's for sure.
"Though...if you wanna stay there I'd be down with that. Otherwise we could find you somewhere else to stay," he added.
"Eight months..." She mused over his answer a moment, over the fact that he had been right in front of her before coming here, but he didn't seem to remember it. Nothing made exact sense to her, but it seemed this world played with time and space, considering Zidane did not seem to even know he came home to her okay. But as long as he was here, she did not mind. Especially because he was safe and sound.
Dagger listened to him, taking into consideration how much a life he must have set up here already. She definitely was more used to a castle setting, and a large city like that reminded her much more of some of the Lindblum districts than of her home.
"I don't... want to stay alone. But I do not want to impose on you."
Zidane thought for a moment before he released his hold on her arm and spun around to face her, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Then let's just live together and find some new place to call home! It's not like there's a shortage of free spaces," he said, waving his arm over the expansive city in the backdrop.
Dagger stopped, hands clasping in front of her as she looked hm in the eye. Really, she should have been used to his sudden bursts of energy, but she always jumped, just a little.
At his suggestion, she couldn't help but smile. "I... would not mind that." Of course, it might be a bit awkward for her at first, to live alone with a man, but it was not like she couldn't get used to it. Living in either the village she saw now or the city in the distance would be fine by her, she had grown used to common living during her journey and she could do it again as long as she was here. "You don't mind moving?"
Secretly relieved that she accepted his offer, Zidane just grinned. "I wouldn't have offered if I had. It's not like I really need to move anything."
He then turned around, still beaming as he looked around. "Now...where to live. It's always pretty quiet here in the village, which can be pretty nice. The city can be kinna loud, but it's not so bad."
"Do you have a preference?" he asked as he turned to face again, his tail swaying just a little as he continued to ponder. It's true that he's more used to the city because of the Tantalus base being in Lindblum, but he knew that Dagger would most likely prefer somewhere quieter. Really he wouldn't mind either way.
