Kiyoshi found his way to the cafe easily, and he took a moment to collect his thoughts. He was there a bit early, so he had time.
Atsuro... he had been through a lot with the other boy. It was almost strange, where they had been a 'week' ago compared to how things were now. And he dearly wanted to stay friends with the other... but he wasn't sure how well that would work in their world anymore.
He spotted the other, and nodded in greeting. "Hey."
"Yuuto!" The familiar shock of blue at the table caught his eye easily, and Atsuro ran the last few meters, waving at his friend. He looked...older, Atsuro decided, as he slipped into a chair opposite the other boy. "It feels like it's been forever, huh?"
His Dreamberry went back into his pocket as he leaned back in the chair with a grin. "So how's it going?" Never mind that he had just asked this on the phone, it was definitely different asking it in person! A flicker of mental irritation passed as he had to forcibly shove the questions aside. Those would have to wait their turn.
"Yeah, it does." It was... nice, seeing Atsuro so at ease. He had made sure that his power was restrained before he headed out, but it was a little draining. "It's going all right. I'm glad to be back, really."
A stretch, and then he leaned forward in the chair to put his elbows on the table. "You seem to be doing well, too."
Doing well? It was kind of strange to think that in this sort of situation, Atsuro kind of agreed that he was "doing well". A week ago, before that had happened, if he'd found himself dumped in a dream world, told that a copy of himself was still going on in the other world, and that there was no internet here...well, the Atsuro of that time wouldn't be doing nearly so well.
The chair rocked a little as he sat forward as well, forearms resting on the surface of the table. "Something like that," he said with a slight laugh, before the smile slipped into something a little serious.
"Uhh...so I was wondering about some things..." A lot of things, actually, but something like this should be taken one step at a time.
Oh man. What sort of things, huh? Atsuro held back for a moment, trying to decide which would be the best approach. It was less about tact - hell knew his tact needed some work - but more about...not really knowing if he himself wanted to know the answers to some things. In the end, what he blurted out was "So Naoya kil--I mean...Man, that didn't come out quite right, huh? I guess I just wanted to hear it from you...I went through the old videos and it makes sense if somehow Naoya's Cain and you're...Abel. Which is why you were qualified to become King of Bel, huh?"
He'd touched a nerve, hadn't he? "...Sorry. It's just a lot to take in..." Atsuro looked away for a moment, and involuntary sigh escaping with an exhaling breath. "You don't remember it though, right?" Yuuto had always struck him as a normal teenager guy, and it'd just be freaky if he found out now that it had all been an act.
Another sigh, as Atsuro shoved the hat more firmly onto his head. A lot to take in indeed.
"Good to know!" Atsuro began, but stopped short. "I guess a guy's gotta do what he's gotta do, huh?" It wasn't fair though - sure he got it now why it had to be Yuuto, Yuuto being who he was, but it wasn't fair. They were just supposed to be normal teenagers -- but on the other hand, if they hadn't been forced through all that... Sometimes, Atsuro wondered which outcome would have been better.
The other question that had been plaguing him since the other man had first appeared tugged at his mind. And to be honest, he wasn't sure if this was a safer topic at all. "By the way...what's going on between Naoya and...Loki?"
Atsuro was almost afraid to ask. "What...sort of relationship?" Actually, strike that, he was terribly afraid now that he'd asked. He could, well, guess. Loki was a complete gigolo, contracted to Naoya, and Naoya...well, he'd never thought he'd see Naoya with a...hickey.
"On second thought, maybe I don't want to know?" Atsuro ammended with a light laugh.
['Distracted how?' occurred to him briefly, but...yeah. He didn't want to know.]
Hmm...it's odd though. Loki apparently knows me, but we barely met him. You chose a completely different path...and I still went along with it, huh. And we're all here, now.
Ah, that's right! Since you disappeared so soon after I got here, I never got a chance to ask you, but I realised I don't have a clue where you live here! [Laughing and change of topic~ Because Loki is just made of awkward.]

"... He did. And he is, and I am. All of that's right." Kiyoshi closed his eyes, his voice quiet. "I'm Abel. Or I was long ago, I guess."

He frowned, concerned about Atsuro. "Who I was in the past doesn't change who I am now... or what has to be done."

... And then that question. Oh Atsuro. "Ah... it's complex. Basically... they're... in a relationship. And have in for a very, very long time."

"Ah... but... at least they keep each other distracted. Most of the time."
