[After making her guests comfortable on her couch and surrounding chairs, Naomi takes a seat herself, crossing one leg over the other. She turns to glance at Rita.]

Did you want to explain the situation to the boys?

[She glances around disinterested, before focusing on the empty space in front of her.]

To put it frankly enough, I'm sick of this whole 'waiting game' we're stuck with between whatever this world decides it's time to give us another tidbit. My proposal is that we catch one of those ghost-things and interrogate it.

Following so far?

*Raises a hand halfway, lowering it quickly.* That would be where I come in.

My parents are ghost hunters.

[She nods, smiling over to her favorite lab assistant.]

Yes, exactly.

[She nods as well.]

I was hoping for that. And it's also where I'm hoping you [she looks pointedly over to Lavi] will come in, too. Lavi has obvious combat experience, and that hammer thing. Danny has experience with ghosts. I'm a genius mage. Naomi seems to be a scientist of some sort. I don't know her credentials, yet, but she seems reliable.

Between the four of us, I'm hoping for results.

*Looks on with growing interest as Rita outlines her idea, nodding to himself. It all makes sense, and with skills like theirs, it's a good plan. They could actually gain something from this: everything fits.*

*All except for one thing.* Uh, time out. More importantly than that, what do we plan to do once we actually, you know, get one? We don't have anywhere to keep a ghost, outside a thermos.

And, uh, after that--... well, what exactly do we mean, 'interrogation'?

There is a great deal of information that we are need to find out that can hopefully be answered by the ghosts. As Rita has said before, waiting around for the next event to come along is wasting time. Things may have been playful in the beginning, but getting trapped in a warehouse and seeing those monsters again was too much.

Exactly. Besides, we think we've figured out a pattern of a sort. People are drawn in at the beginning of the month, and weird things only happen around the latter half of the month. Which is why we should strike now, of all times -- it's when that Overlord or whoever it is behind this whole ordeal is most distracted.

And there's something else that's been bugging me that I want to get an opinion on. Has anyone else been keeping track of the moon's cycles lately?

*Eyes widen as they talk, until his palm suddenly meets his forehead with a resounding smack.* Of course! How did I not see any of that before now? The rush of new people, the calm, the freaky weirdness--it's all been regular! Regular like...

... Wait, the moon? But the moon hasn't been following the months, here. In fact, there's kind of barely been any relation at all. *Glances at Lavi.* Is he still right?

I can't say I've paid much attention to the moon's waxing and waning, but I do believe that could be a factor into the process of it. There's no reason we can't procure that information easily. Someone within Somarium has to have noticed.

Possibly. But I know -- the theory is still in its developmental stages. I'm just trying to get an opinion on it, but... in ancient times, the moon has always been considered a source of magic and superstition and all that stuff. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch if it played some role. And considering this is considered a 'dream world', and dream is linked to night, and then moon, etc. I'm just pointing out the possibility. The constellations might also be worth taking a look at.

[She nods to Naomi's point.]

We should ask around. Someone among the masses has to harbor that sort of hobby. If it comes to nothing, though, we should probably keep an eye out ourselves.

*Raises a hand again, plucking at a nearby pillow with his free hand.* I, uh, third the whole 'ask if anyone's been keeping track of that kind of thing' idea.

If we can't find anyone, though, I could probably help keep track.
