As the hour passes to turn into a new day, those who are still awake will hear a faint rumbling sound. It is soon followed by faint rattling and creaks as loose items within the warehouse start to bounce and shake from the tremors of the ground.
For any who were succumbed by sleep, they would soon jolt from their nightmarish slumber at the sounds of ghastly wailing and moaning from just outside the building. Those who look out their windows will see the ground covered by strange, black, formless creatures that have surrounded the warehouse. Their chorus of screeching only escalate as they move as one giant wave to crash into the lower entrances, some scaling the walls and others flying into the upper level windows.
No matter what they did, the inhabitants of Somarium could not fend off the monsters. Even the strongest would soon find themselves overpowered as the swarm of noctaere continued to infiltrate the warehouse and ram into every room. As each person stared into the screaming maw of a noctaere, images would flood their minds. Gruesome scenes of their bodies ripped to shreds, of friends and loved ones consumed and disappearing into the blackness. Was this the end?
Just as the noctaere lunged for the final blow -- just as they could feel the cold air, the hot and rank breath, the teeth or claws just starting to pierce the skin -- everyone wakes up to find themselves not in pieces, but safe and whole.
Now back in their own bed, everyone has been returned to Somarium. Was it all dream? Or did something happen? Where had they been and why were they back now? Those questions and more would have to wait until the morrow. Just as suddenly as they had awoken, everyone would find themselves unable to keep their eyes open and fall into a deep, dreamless sleep.
