[He's still running down the road when he hears her voice, and makes a turn.

And then he sees her, and--

There's something about seeing her in person again that overwhelms Dominic, as he stands there, staring. It's a mixture of shock, happiness, and a few other emotions he can't identify--just raw feelings plastered across his face. A moment passes, before his mind starts working once more and he runs towards her.]

Anemone...!

[He's repeating himself, he knows, but to see her again is...

He stops in front of her, taking a few seconds to catch his breath. It's Anemone.]

[Dominic nearly loses his balance, as he immediately tenses at the contact. He remembers the first time she did this, right after the operation, and it only serves to strengthen his dread. Still, he smiles softly at her, relaxing somewhat. She seems all right, which is always a good thing.]

No, it was fine, Anemone...

[A pause]

Did you have to wait long?

[Dominic's a little uncomfortable at the proximity, considering the state Anemone's in, but he ignores it in favour of answering her question.

... This might be difficult.]

That's... We can't go back. I'm sorry.

[This is what he was hoping to avoid. He himself looks distraught for a moment at her expression.]

... No, that's not it. [He's explained this kind of thing plenty of times before, but with Anemone, everything's different. A pause, and then:]

Anemone, please listen carefully to what I'm about to say.

[As is everything about her behaviour, it's strange for her to have so much faith in him. It also makes him feel rather guilty, because he knows that there's nothing he can do to return her to their world.]

Everything I'm about to tell you--I know it sounds strange. But please believe me, Anemone.

[He's quiet for a second. He never thought he'd have to explain this to her, let alone see her again, so he isn't prepared. Ultimately, though, there's only so many ways he can put it.]

... This isn't our world anymore. The base... It isn't even here.

[The laughter's almost unfamiliar to him, and a flicker of sadness passes through his face before he hides it. It's going to take a long time before he gets used to this.]

... This place is called Somarium. It's also known as a 'dream world,' but as to how we got here... There are a few guesses, but nothing concrete yet.

[According to the Overlord, they came through their dreams--but Dominic just can't see how that's possible for someone like him, who died. And, well, is thus not dreaming, obviously.]

[Dominic feels a stab of guilt at her actions, but there isn't much he can do about it, as much as he hates it.]

... Over ten months. Time--it doesn't work the same as it does back home.

[That's probably the one good thing about the current "her"--she's willing to accept his word, at least. Not that he'd choose her over the real Anemone, though.

--And his dread just worsens at her last comment. It shows in his expression, and when he speaks, his tone is more serious than before.]
