Lussuria was just about to put the ramen in when he heard the knocks at the door. Dropping the noodles on the counter, he made his way to the door. Almost yanking it open, he stood there blinking several time before he smiled.
"Nfu~! Welcome to mama Lussu's fab kitchen~! Come on iiin~!"
Leaving the door, he went back towards the kitchen, glancing over his shoulder to make sure the other guy was actually coming in.
s'okay, this breaks the overdue record orzshamesthebrassFebruary 21 2010, 18:39:45 UTC
The Reaper almost took a step back when the door seemed to throw itself aside. The person beyond it was...well, as elaborately decorated as that text message he'd sent. Funny how he didn't expect that.
Oh but a nice scent was wafting in from the inside, and it was one he'd recognize anywhere.
"Yo. Lussuria was it? Something smells good in there," Kariya said as he followed the other inside.
He paused after closing the door, suddenly uncertain. He was feeling ravenous, but he couldn't just ignore common courtesy. "Do I kick off the shoes or are you fine with me keepin' 'em on?" he asked, gesturing to the pair of boots he had on.
LOL no worries!fredda_morteFebruary 21 2010, 18:53:52 UTC
Lussuria glanced down to his boots and smiled. It was always good to see someone who could make casual look good. Kariya seemed to know how things went together whether he was aware of it or not. He waved his hand dismissively and smiled.
"Just keep them on, it's not my place after all...not yet. Mmmhmm~ Lussuria's the name!"
He was finally in the kitchen and went to the stove, picking up the ramen and dropping it in the pot. He used a pair of chopsticks to stir the broth and noodles together, relaxing back as he looked over at Kariya with a pout.
"Now...I didn't know what kind to make, so I've got three kinds, kind of basic though. Chicken chilli, grilled salmon and vegetable. Just finishing up the chicken, there's drinks in the fridge if you want."
whoops, wrong place! /editsshamesthebrassFebruary 21 2010, 20:00:33 UTC
So house rules weren't so strict. Kariya was liking the place already. After carefully wiping off the melting snow onto the welcome mat, he followed his host further into the house.
"Not your place? And that's a strange name, if you don't mind my saying," he said, glancing about him, checking out his surroundings. "Sounds foreign-"
And he had to stop mid-thought when they entered what had to be the kitchen. He'd have known it was the kitchen even if he were led into it blindfolded; the bare scent of food that he'd caught when he was standing outside obviously originated from here.
"Damn, that smells good," he murmured appreciatively, then catching Lussuria's expression, he grinned. "Just keep 'em coming, man. I feel like I could eat all that and more. I could wait for you to finish up though, no rush." He glanced around the kitchen, again mindful of courtesy. "Anything I can help out in?"
Luss is good at doing that.fredda_morteFebruary 21 2010, 20:14:41 UTC
"Oh just go ahead and eat, wouldn't be good if it got cold, now would it?"
It made him feel proud when people complimented his work. He never really got verbal appreciation back home. But he still got it in the way of seconds being demanded. He made his way to the fridge and grabbed two cans of beer. That was one thing he was missing about home, all the fine stuff nearby.
"It's Squalo's place, buuuu~t I'm sure that makes it mine as well. I come from Italy, sooo I guess you could say it's foreign. So tell me, out of curiosity, how old are you?"
...asdad writing this makes me wanna eat somethingshamesthebrassFebruary 22 2010, 02:12:12 UTC
Well, that was certainly easy to do. Courtesy out the window then. He grabbed a bowl from the counter and approached those pots. "No, guess not," he replied. You can't hear it in his voice, but you can probably see it on his face. He's in his happy place right now, and he's not bothering to hide it.
"Squalo... not anyone I've heard of. Guess I better thank him when I see him next," he says as he fills up his bowl. "And you being italian kinda makes sense. You got the whole Awesome Cook thing down, anyway, judging by this smell."
Bowl filled to the brim, he makes his way over to the counter and pulls up a stool. Then he pauses to think about that last question. "Hm... you never really think about that sorta thing in my line of work. Guess I'm still 19."
I'm eating biscuits lolfredda_morteFebruary 22 2010, 11:36:16 UTC
"Maaa! Please you'll make me blush!"
Lussuria didn't know if Kariya actually liked beer or not but he passed him a can anyway. Turning to face him again his eyebrows rose high. What did he mean by that? He guessed he was still 19?
and I just had soba |DshamesthebrassFebruary 22 2010, 14:44:09 UTC
He took the can of beer with a murmur of thanks, opening it with one deft movement. The drink was something he did like to have once in a while. He took a quick swig, wiping his mouth with a sleeve, wondering just how much he ought to reveal about where he was from, what he was. After all, he wasn't quite sure what this place - this Somarium - was, and he never felt too comfortable with missing pieces of the puzzle.
"You could say my job made age irrelevant," he said, grinning. Stick to simple facts. Simple facts were easy to keep track of. "I've been 19 for a long while now, but I've seen way more than what this age normally calls for."
He waggled the beer can at Lussuria. "So if you're worrying about me being underaged, well, I think I make a pretty good exception. So, what about you?"
I...had a milkshake and a smoke ORZ;;fredda_morteFebruary 22 2010, 15:29:07 UTC
Now here was someone who would hold Lussuria's interest for longer than half an hour. His curiosity grew more and more, he wondered just what kind of job, or rather, just what Kariya was that he didn't age. No matter how hard Lussuria tried, he still noticed very slight changes, changes that he didn't like one bit.
"I hardly ever pay attention to age, so no worries there, even if you weren't an exception."
Again Lussuria caught himself tapping his pouted lips.
...and I had more soba 8DshamesthebrassFebruary 23 2010, 16:56:40 UTC
For him, the best type of people were the ones who accepted things, no questions asked. Lussuria seemed an okay guy by that standard, and that was something Kariya was grateful for.
"Same question you asked me," he replied, shoveling noodles in his mouth. The broth was sublime, the noodles perfectly textured. It was so good he forgot to swallow before posing his next statement: "Aow ol' ah oo?"
[ooc: transl = How old are you? :D Pardon Kariya's terrific table manners.]
LOL I just ordered two large pizzas!fredda_morteFebruary 23 2010, 17:18:37 UTC
Taking a swig from his can Lussuria, somehow, knew what Kariya had just asked. Lifting one of his shoulders in an offhand shrug the assassin moved to sit on the counter.
"26, though I'll be 27 soonish. Sadly, I my job doesn't stop me from ageing, though it would be great if it did!"
[OOC: LOL oh Luss has seen worse. I like how we have food from our muses countries XD]
and now I'm hungry again D'8shamesthebrassFebruary 23 2010, 17:39:41 UTC
"Oh?" Kariya swallowed this time, and sat up straight (because he'd been bending over his bowl of ramen). "Does your job involves some kinda physical activity?"
It was mild speculation, of course, but it made sense. Jobs like that were better done at a certain age. After all, there were advantages to being young. For example, all your organs were still intact.
[ooc: ...wow that completely went over my head. LOL. Yeah that is kinda awesome. XD]
I...ate a whole large pepperoni pizza and a slice of the hottest pizza EVER!fredda_morteFebruary 23 2010, 17:59:59 UTC
Lussuria smiled and nodded his head slowly.
"I guess you could say that. It's very physical, but you also have to use your mind a lot."
You had to be fit, and you had to be smart to get far in the Varia. You had to be the best of the best and no exceptions. Everyone in the mafia knew about the Varia and what they did, but mafia life...was a secret.
.../goes for more soba (we seem to have an unlimited supply atm XD)shamesthebrassFebruary 24 2010, 15:44:33 UTC
"Guess it keeps ya well-rounded then, eh? That's cool."
He toyed a bit with the food in his bowl. There were a lot of noodles, he was pleased to see. With the tip of his chopsticks, he whirled them around into a vortex of strings before leveling a couple into his mouth.
"Mm, I guess my job's kinda similar," he said in between chews, deciding that talking about the job was safe enough. And anyway, this good food made him feel like indulging in some small talk. "It's easiest to think of it in terms of a game. I'm the guy who harasses the main players. Simple stuff, y"'know, like putting roadblocks in their way."
He grinned a little as he thought of his many exploits. "The best part is seeing their reactions."
LOL oh man...I had a cheeseburger lastnight lolfredda_morteFebruary 25 2010, 10:35:04 UTC
"I suppose, yeah. It deffinately has its upsides."
Lussuria listened with interest. What Kariya had to say sounded fun to be honest and in a way, Lussuria's old fight with Ryohei had been treated a lot like a game. He was feeling comfortable around the other guy.
"Maaaa I know exactly what you mean."
He was beaming as he still remembered the fight and hearing everyones reactions and Ryohei's as well. It had been so wonderful!
He gave the door a couple of knocks, then took a step back, waiting for it to open.
