[have a hand reach up and grab one that's flying in the air!]

Oi, this yours?

About eight months. poet_of_piano February 19 2010, 22:40:15 UTC
Yes! Thank you! [He runs over to take it from him, and then stops, his hand still open to take the paper, looking rather shocked for a moment.] ... Kamina?

[He hadn't seen him in months! It was rather odd to be meeting the first person he ever met in this world after so long...]

Ah! [Frederic looked back behind him, realizing that there were still pieces of his composition spread out everywhere. He glanced back at Kamina for a second.] Sorry, just a moment.

[And he turned to go make sure he didn't lose hours worth of work to the snow and wind.]

Exactly. hellyouthinkiam February 20 2010, 19:05:39 UTC
Huh? [Kamina looked blankly at Chopin, a little confused. did he know him? or maybe he had heard one of his earlier announcements? he did proclaim his name all over the network, after all, but that look of shock hadn't gone unnoticed.

but he wasn't going to stand by and let a little guy do everything on his own! so Kamina will be helping Chopin out, picking up some more of the sheets and waited until the other guy was done before handing them over and asking the all important question.]

Am I supposed ta know you?

[Frederic accepted them gratefully, though right after, he certainly looks confused.]

You don't remember?

[Canas is walking, inspecting this odd place he has found himself in when he sees Frederic...And his papers.]

Oh, dear...

[The scholar knows instinctively what happened, for the same has often, embarrassingly enough, happened to him. So he hurries over to help out.]

[His arms were soon full of the messed up papers that he had dropped. He hadn't had much time, while collecting him, to do much more then nod and say a small "thank you" to the man who was helping him, until they were finally done. Finally, when they were all collected, he straightened up, though his attention was still on checking over his manuscript to see what he was going to have to replace.]

It looks like we got them all, but... [He frowns as he notices the ink on quite a few had been ruined by the snow.]

[He looks down at the pages he holds and notes the smeared ink.]

Oh...I am sorry to see that these papers have been ruined by the snow.

[He doesn't question their importance, for his papers are just as important to him.]

I read a book once that stated that freezing soaked papers should help to preserve them, if you heat them up again after? Though it sounds terribly impractical. How would one freeze something quickly?

I'm not sure how one would freeze these at all. [He's looking over them, trying to figure out just what he was going to have to replace, and separating the wet pages from the others so the others wont be ruined.]

[Frederic had been so focused that he nearly was shocked out of his skin when he heard Victor's yelp. He was still hunched over, trying to grab one of the escaping sheets, but his head snapped to stare wide eyed in the direction of the man who had just fallen over backward... He couldn't just ignore the man in favor of solving his own problem. He straightened and went to go help the man up.]

I'm so sorry! Are you all right?

Wait, don't--! [The instant the man moved to start to crumble the score sheet, Frederic looked like he was stepping forward to stop him, but when Victor threw it down, he dropped to the ground to grab it. He quickly snatched it up and un-crumpled it to carefully check it over to ensure it wasn't too badly damaged... And of course, because it landed in the slushy snow, it was.

... Slowly, Frederic's gaze went to glare up at Victor, his expression rather dark, frustrated, and annoyed.]

Do you have any idea how much time I spent on this?

It was kind of amazing that, even after all these months, Soul still managed to run into parts of town he'd never actually paid mind to. Again today, he passed by something new--or at least, something he'd never taken notice of before: the theatre.

This was the conventional type, which amounted to most of the reason it had never piqued his interested before. He liked movies, but live theatre was something he could honestly not have cared less about.

Just as he was taking a sideways glance at the building, wondering who in their right mind still built anything that '30s', a piece of paper swept across the ground in the breeze and smacked itself right into the front of his leg.

Peeling the paper off his jeans, Soul noticed there were others like it drifting around similarly. Catching a few, he looked up to spot a somewhat familiar man who was in the process of reassembling a paper stack.

"Hey. I guess these are yours?"

Frederic looked up, just as he was shuffling to rearrange the stack in his arms so he could accomedate more papers being added to the bunch. He was trying to keep the frustration and annoyance at his own bloody clumsiness at bay, while he also was still trying to keep a cool head while he was trying to save what had been months worth of work on various compositions.

They hadn't spoken very much recently, but Frederic still remembered Soul from their conversations over the Dreamberries, though if he was remembering correctly, this was the first time they had met face to face.

"You're Soul, am I right? Yes, they are. Thank you for picking them up."

"You got it," he said, adding the papers to the stack. "And you're Frederic."

Mr. Chopin was probably one of the most dressed-up people he could remember meeting in Somarium, so it was hard to forget him. Even just over the Dreamberries, it was difficult not to notice. He had an eloquent air about him that seemed to belong to a whole other time--mostly because it did.

"What's all the paper for, anyway?"

"I am. It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person." He said, holding out his stack for Soul to add his collected papers to.

He couldn't help that he was born in the nineteenth century and seemed so out of place in this more modern setting. It was funny, because even to him, people who appeared to be from his own timeline seemed to stand out more simply because of the fact that they were highly in minority to the residents from more modern times.

"They are--- Well, they were pieces of a few compositions I was bringing to Mr. Gray at the theatre. Clearly, a few of them are going to need some editing..." To say the least. Quite a few got soaked through and ripped.
