[too bad so sad. you know the downside of having big giant ass swords? sooo easy to read those swings. so just after he lands and with a quick spin, Cid effectively blocks the blade with the body of his spear, a hand gripped tightly around each end. it did push him back some, but that was okay.

he was going to just jump back, increase the distance between just a bit so he could have a better standing, and swing right on back at him. Cid knew Cloud had to be in close quarters despite the giant length of that damn sword. seriously, how the hell did that scrawny kid lift that thing?]
