The name puzzled him, though. 'Saber'? That's a sword... Why would a girl be named like that? This sounds like that one eroge he heard about back in his world... By some dude names USAN? :|a
He freezed for an instant when he looked up after arriving at the table. ...A regal air, and not a completely humane feel. Is she a queen? Someone else got dragged into this again, huh...
Making a visible effort of standing up straighter (she may have noticed his terrible posture when he was making his way here, back slouched and hands in his pocket), and removing his hands from his jacket, he gave a polite bow.]
Good evening, Saber-san. [Still standing next to his chair, but ( ... )

She noticed his poor posture yes, but she wasn't one to judge someone based on such simple things. She wasn't, after all, the King of Heroes, whom condemned all he saw to the category 'mongrel.']
Good evening. Might I have your name? It would make conversing much easier.

[Too bad we'll never know xD]
There is no need for apologies.

Is there anything that you would like to ask of me, Saber-san? [Somehow it didn't feel appropriate to start asking her things first. He wasn't sure why, but...
He's always been one to go with the feel. Let's see where this one may lead.]

She raised an eyebrow only slightly]
It would be rude of me to do so. Please, I insist.

Alright.]
Understood. I'm a high school student of Gekkoukan High, Tatsumi Port Islands, Japan. I was finishing up my second year there when I arrived in Somarium. How about you, Saber-san?

[that and it wasn't a good conversational topic]
Are you alone? Or are there others from your world here with you?
Reply
The soft conversationalist look returns at her question, however.]
Yes, there are. They are two friends from school, Ryoji-kun and Akihiko-senpai. Ryoji-kun isn't very serious and likes to hit on girls, but he's a good guy. As for senpai, he's my senior in terms of age and experience, so I look up to him a lot. [There's a faint but definitely palpable warmth as he spoke of his friends; they really meant a lot to him, and he would not have gone nearly as far as he did, where it not for their support ( ... )

He reminded her of Kiyoshi just a bit. And cherishing one's companions was the sign of a truly kind and wonderful spirit]
Then you are all lucky to have each other in such a strange place. Keep them close.
[For all her lack in social skills, she was still pretty good at reading people. Normally, she only employed this in battle, but it seemed a useful skill for this as well]
I am joined here by two from my world. One, my son, I am quite happy to have near me.

[A... son? She looked so young. That only confirmed his suspicions that she was much older than she looked.] That must be reassuring, to have family here as well.

I confess, I have had little concern about the state of my world in my absence...[it had long moved on after her passing]

You don't have anything to go back to, Saber-san? [There's light surprise there, but also a serious look. That doesn't mean anything good, and willingly or not, she did just give away something that she may have preferred to keep to herself. After all, if there is nothing left for you in your world, then there are only a limited number of conclusions that you could draw from that. ...Mostly bad ones.]
Somarium has been good to me so far. The display of thoughts was an unusual event, and so was Ryoji-kun becoming a child. I realize that the former could be potentially harmful to some, but it wasn't for me and the ones that I've spoken to.

[She tilted her head ever so slightly with a raised brow]
I see. That must have been another status card. I stumbled upon one not so long ago.
