[It's the lingering feeling of fire that draws Kefka closer, not any actual curiosity as to why the people are gathering there or what that yellow thing marking the area is. Those things doesn't matter. But the lingering feeling of fire and the familiar if very faint smell of burnt flesh pulls him closer.

If only people would move so he could actually see what was going on.]

[Because Vincent recognizes mayhem when he sees it, and because he just has perfect timing like that, he'll just be wandering over.]

My, isn't it crowded.

[It takes a moment before Kefka realizes the man is talking to him, busy as he is trying to figure out how to see what has happened. Maybe by getting higher ground?]

Hmm?

Oh, yes. Very crowded. You'd almost think it was a fair, if not for the horrified looks on people's faces.

[Smile smile~]

Oh, I don't know. Horrified faces are also quite common in fairs.

Whatever the case, it's still quite the spectacle.

Your world must have more interesting fairs than mine. Though there was that one time where the knife juggler lost his knives, as well as his fingers...

A spectacle, indeed. Tragedy always draws the people out, to stare and to feel guilty over their relief that it's not them it has happened to, or their close ones.

That sounds about right. Whatever it is, they aren't here for the sake wanting to help, rather than a sense of morbid curiosity.

When you think about it that way, we have such a nice population here, do we not?

Oh, you know how it is. There is a reason why public executions used to be staged as entertainment, after all.

Oh, yes. Very nice indeed.
