[ It had been a long day, and the hatter himself had left the large estate to get away from the constant tension and the fray that the house entailed. So a walk was in order, cane and top hat included.

However, spotting a young, beautiful lady all by her lonesome on a bench sparked his curiosity. Plus, it was polite to see if such a charming young woman was all right. So he headed over, smile already in place. ]

[Kotonoha looked up at hearing the voice, noticing him for the first time. He seems like a nice guy. So very polite too. So you get a genuine, small smile in return that still doesn't really make that blank expression any less emotionless]

Is there a reason you're out in the cold alone?

[ He tips his hat, as a further gesture of politeness, before allowing his gaze to settle on her fully once more. No-- he doesn't recongize her, and there's something ... off, perhaps. Definitely warrants further investigation. ]

[ A slight tilt of his head ] Have you tried calling that person?

[She nods, and despite how vague her answer is, it's easy to guess that they didn't answer her back.] I have.

I see. [ A pause, and now he's thoughtfully stroking his chin ] How rude of them to leave a call from a young lady unanswered.

... [She's frowning now. It wasn't Makoto-kun's fault that he hadn't answered her back, he just hadn't gotten her call yet...if he ever got it.]

[ He takes her silence in stride, and says nothing for a moment, before reaching up to his hat and plucking a single rose from it. Just... go along with it. Anyhow, he'll be offering it to her. ] Perhaps this'll make the wait more tolerable?

[Oh? Well, that was a little unexpected. She blinks at the sight of the rose, not quite sure what to say, but eventually she does reach out to take it, figuring it would be rude not to.] Ah...thank you...
