[Naomi's had a rough last couple days, so a nice cup of coffee is just what she needs to keep her day from spiraling out of control. However, after getting her fix, the woman can't help but notice Hermione sitting by her lonesome reading and taking notes. Her eyes narrow dangerously as she instantly recognizes the girl.

Without asking, she slips onto an extra chair at the table and folds her hands neatly in her lap.

Her tone is polite, as if asking about the weather.]

What exactly did you have against Yoh?

[The sound of the name causes her to tense. She's been trying not to think about the whole thing since it happened, so she's a little wary as she looks at Naomi. They've spoken only a couple of times, but she gets the feeling that the connection the woman had to Yoh is something deeper than she originally thought.]

[she stirs her tea with a spoon, her tone is just as casual as Naomi's, although a bit forced] I had nothing against him until he not only called me up to mock me, but assaulted me on a deserted street with the help of his friend.

[Naomi's smile on brightens at that.]

He assaulted you? Out in the open?

[She's not sure why you're smiling, but she certainly doesn't like it.]

At dusk on a deserted street. His friend used some sort of biological weapon of his to take my wand.

Really?

Hm, it doesn't sound nearly as interesting as if he'd done it alone by himself.

[Leaning forward, the woman's smile remains unchanged.] What happened between the two of you?

[Well that's a very forward question, considering she doesn't know you at all. Not to mention she doesn't quite understand what you mean by "more interesting". Attacking someone is never "interesting"... what kind of world do you live in? But she'll just be keeping those last thoughts to herself and scowling a little before forming a reply.]

[crisp and formal] Your guess is as good as mine. I saved his life. He saved mine. Two weeks later he called to taunt me, and I suppose it escalated from there.

[Now, that was surprising. Sitting silently for a moment in the empty seat she had stolen, the woman eventually tilted her head slightly, dark eyes widening.

Her voice, though initially curious, softened greatly.]

You saved his life?

Yes.

[She sips at her tea for a moment.] You seem surprised. Did he not mention this to you? I was under the impression you were close, otherwise you wouldn't be so angry at me, correct?

Yes, we were, but he never mentioned it before.

What happened?

[She frowns.]

I'm not exactly sure what happened myself; he wasn't very forthcoming with information. I was at the library late one night, and he made some kind of broadcast over the Dreamberry. It was clear he was injured and losing blood rapidly, so I tracked him to his location and healed some of his wounds before others came. I had some blood replenishing potions in my bag that I managed to feed him...

And then he just walked off. Said something about looking for his sister. I tried to stop him... [She stirs her tea.] But he was very stubborn.

[A sigh.] A month later he returned the favor and saved my life.

[It's been so long since she's allowed herself to even think of the man she'd come to care so deeply about, so it's only natural that Naomi takes all of what the girl has to say deeply.]

Ah, I see. That does sound like him...

[Bows her head in thought, pausing.]

It's a shame you two didn't get along.

I suppose. Though, did he always take such an aggressive approach towards those he didn't like?

Yes, that's just the way he was. When he didn't feel like lying, he could be very blunt with his feelings on people.
