Her tone is polite, as if asking about the weather.]

[she stirs her tea with a spoon, her tone is just as casual as Naomi's, although a bit forced] I had nothing against him until he not only called me up to mock me, but assaulted me on a deserted street with the help of his friend.

At dusk on a deserted street. His friend used some sort of biological weapon of his to take my wand.

Hm, it doesn't sound nearly as interesting as if he'd done it alone by himself.
[Leaning forward, the woman's smile remains unchanged.] What happened between the two of you?

[crisp and formal] Your guess is as good as mine. I saved his life. He saved mine. Two weeks later he called to taunt me, and I suppose it escalated from there.

Her voice, though initially curious, softened greatly.]

[She sips at her tea for a moment.] You seem surprised. Did he not mention this to you? I was under the impression you were close, otherwise you wouldn't be so angry at me, correct?

I'm not exactly sure what happened myself; he wasn't very forthcoming with information. I was at the library late one night, and he made some kind of broadcast over the Dreamberry. It was clear he was injured and losing blood rapidly, so I tracked him to his location and healed some of his wounds before others came. I had some blood replenishing potions in my bag that I managed to feed him...
And then he just walked off. Said something about looking for his sister. I tried to stop him... [She stirs her tea.] But he was very stubborn.
[A sigh.] A month later he returned the favor and saved my life.

[Bows her head in thought, pausing.]
