He got an earnest smile in reply. Watanuki made his way to the table, setting down the two cups carefully so as not to disturb Omi. "Is that a project you're working on?" He queried. "It's very nice."
Omi nodded enthusiastically. "It's for the display out front." The base of the arrangement were tiny white flowers, and a multitude of just-about-to-bloom flowers could be seen about to peek up through the bed of white. "I wanted to remind everyone that spring is coming."
orz sorry, took a nap!hitsuzen_slaveJanuary 16 2010, 03:40:47 UTC
Watanuki nodded approvingly, admiring the flowerbuds and the delicate, dewy petals of the blossoms. "That's a message, I think, that people definitely need this time of year."
He sat accross from Omi, and motioned to the two cups. "I brought you hot cocoa--but please, don't interrupt your work on my account."
Omi's eyes lit up at the liquid sugar. He was only 18, after all. "Thanks!" He set the flowers to the side, and gratefully picked up one of the cups. "Oh, this is so nice. I can't wait for winter to be over, and it to start getting warmer."
"You're welcome," he replied, smiling, before taking up his own cup and having a sip. It was still quite hot, but thankfully no longer scalding on the tongue. Delicious.
"It's only January--I typically start getting sick and tired of snow in late February, when it hangs around in dirty clumps. Where are you from, Tsukiyono-san? Does it snow often there?"
"Tokyo?" This excited Watanuki; it seemed each day he met all sorts of strange people from all sorts of countries and dimensions, but meeting someone from a city he was familiar with was refreshing. "I'm from there as well. Did you travel with your family?" He figured that was who Omi's 'we' referred to.
Watanuki nodded; he tried imagining what traveling around with Himawari and Doumeki would be like, and the only image that came up was that of chaos. "I was never able to travel, due to my job." It was a half-lie, but it would work. "What kind of places did you visit?"
hahahahaha MAMORU YOU HUGE CREEPERhitsuzen_slaveJanuary 16 2010, 08:43:08 UTC
"Kyoto..." he repeated, as if the word itself would bring the Old Capital up around him. All those cities sounded wonderful, full of history and beautiful old temples. "Aren't there nice beaches in Kamakura?"
[ooc. ...i'm sorry, are they talking about Omi's shop back home or the one in Som? i'd assumed the latter but i wanted to make sure we were on the same page.]
Watanuki nodded, taking it in as he sipped his cocoa. He imagined that Omi might see hundreds of different flowers in a day, and was understandably curious. He kept glancing around, all the vibrant colors of potted plants catching his eye. It was enough to make a man start landscaping. "And you live in this shop, I assume?"
