Aya covered her mouth with her hands and stepped back until she was against the wall. Oh holy crap, did he just-- from the ground?! With his arms?!

Aya did not want to give her cat away, but at that moment she felt just a little afraid of saying 'no' to this guy, especially since he was going to the trouble of getting her out.

...Even if he did seem more interested in the cat than the rescue.

Somehow, she managed not to scream. She spent a few moments staring at Luffy, hands still covering her gaping mouth, then nodded mutely and went inside.

She eyed the giant frog hat she'd gotten from Fran, wondering if Luffy might accept that instead?

No. The less noise made the better. Negotiations could come later. She dragged the cat plush to the balcony.

"How do we get down?"

On reflection, maybe she wasn't ready to know that yet.

Aya had a bad feeling about this

Ran had been hearing a lot of noise coming from the room and it concerned him. Going to the door, he'd listened as best he could. When he heard someone else there, he began trying to open the door.

Then to pound on it and try to force his way in. He could feel the panic building.

"Aya!"

Aya's hold around Luffy tightened as she heard her brother banging and calling. It pained her to hear him sounding so panicked, but what other choice had he left her?

"I'm sorry, Oniichan! I can't live like this!"

Oh but this escape plan did not look good to her. (Nor did Luffy's solution for bringing the cat along, but at the moment that was the least of her concerns.) She pressed her forehead against Luffy's back and screwed her eyes shut in quiet dread.

The next and only sound from her was an ear-piercing shriek that quickly faded into the distance. Yet somehow, under all the very real terror that she felt as she hurtled through the air, a small voice inside her thought, ‘whee.’

That was...

Aya was screaming. Pounding the door with his shoulder, he winced. This might bruise later but Ran had to get to the other side. Another slam and he managed to get it open enough to see an empty room. Quickly, he ran to his room to grab a weapon (a knife) and then he was at his window to stare down.

"AYA!"

Aya's screaming didn't seem to be dying out any as the pair of them sailed through the sky. Tears of horror filled her eyes, so certain was she that she was mere seconds away from death. Had she understood better Luffy's plans for landing, she might have taken far more thrill and enjoyment from the feeling of flight. As it was, however, all she could do was cling to him and repeat a single phrase.

"Don't lemme die, don't lemme die, don't lemme dieeeeeee!"

"WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING?!" Aya cried with no less hysteria than she'd held through her screaming. She'd long since given up on trying to watch anything through this traumatic death trap of an "escape," and so when Luffy inflated himself, and Aya bounced off him and hit the ground with nothing worse than a few scrapes and future bruises, she only half-registered what was happening.

After a few seconds of continuing to scream while curled up on the ground, it finally occurred to her that 1) she wasn't falling anymore, and 2) she was still alive to realize as much. Drawing in great gasps of breath, Aya braved to open her eyes and look around. God only knew where they were, but it was solid ground and that was really just about all Aya cared about at that point.

She wiped the tears from her eyes and looked then at Luffy in something approaching awe. She couldn't quite decide if he was the world's biggest idiot or a genius in disguise. He had rescued her, and had found a way to get her far away from her brother-- more than ample distance

Aya supposed he had a point, though why oceans had been singled out she had no clue. It seemed to her an ocean would be safer than the ground. Maybe he had a shark phobia? Except that didn’t sound quite believable; Luffy did not seem like he could have any phobias

The shock of Luffy's unique elasticity had worn off by now, so when he stretched his cheek out enough to fit a dinner plate in his mouth, Aya stared for a moment and then simply laughed. (What could she say? It was a funny sight)

"I do see. It seems like a lot of fun. I bet you can make all kinds of great faces with that ability."
