Yunoki had listened to his friend outside for quite a while now. He could see the small snowman from the front window. Smiling and shaking his head, he wondered how long Hihara was really going to stay out there. It was freezing, and if he stayed out too long, even Hihara was likely to catch a cold. Finishing off his tea, Yunoki got up and went to the door.
He thought about grabbing his coat, but insisted that he wasn't staying out long enough for that. No, he just needed to convince Hihara that it was time to come in.
Poking his head out the door, he saw Hihara passed out on the ground. Shaking his head, he forced himself out into the cold. "Hihara, you're going to get sick if you lay there like that too long."
He couldn't understand how his friend did it. The cold felt like it was going right through him. But he had still made his way from the doorway out into the yard slowly.
"Is this what you were working so hard on?" Yunoki asked, grinning at the small snowman.
"Now." He said, hands on his hips. "At least get off the ground... you're soaked." Reluctantly he offered his hand to his friend to help him up. Too late he realized that he should have at least put gloves on.
"Alright!" He grabbed his best friend's hand to help him up, but, unfortunately, his foot hit a slippery spot, and he fell back down, pulling Yunoki with him.
Yunoki didn't even have a second to react before he was dragged down into the snow without warning. Dazed, Yunoki blinked and involuntarily shivered, as he lay in the snow. He was thoroughly cold, wet,and now, looking over pointedly at his best friend with a rather irritated look on his face.
Had it been anyone else, the look on his face would have been a lot less pleasant and he wouldn't be attempting to act like it wasn't so bad. But it was Hihara, and it wasn't really his fault that it was slippery out here. Or at least this was what he told himself as he got his emotions in check. Once he was sure his friend saw that he was displeased, he let it go, and tried to take on a lighter, more joking expression and tone.
"A-are you okay?" His voice was softer than usual and it trembled slightly, much to his own annoyance. Yunoki's body had a low tolerance for the cold so it didn't come as a surprise to him, it was just... annoying, although he didn't let it show.
Hihara flailed. "Aaaaa, Yunoki! Sorry!!" Hihara dipped his head in shame a few times, before scrambling to his feet on his own. He scuffed the ground he was standing on to get some extra traction, before offering his hand to his best friend to help him.
Chuckling despite his chattering teeth, Yunoki gladly accepted the hand, his legs feeling a bit numb at first. Getting up helped a little. Except now he was wet and the wind was hitting him and he felt like maybe he was better off curled up in the freezing snow.
"L-looks like we're both soaked now..."
And he'd have even more laundry to do. But he didn't want to think about that now. He felt weak. But it was probably just the cold wet clothes he was wearing.
Yunoki smiled softly. He hated looking weak, and he didn't really want Hihara to feel guilty about it. It didn't change anything anyway, so what good did it do. The best way to avoid that, he figured, was to show Hihara that he would be fine.
Unfortunately he didn't feel all that fine, but that was only a mere technicality. The master of secrets should be able to hide a little unease.
"Yes. I'll start some tea and you can get out of those wet clothes. I'll make sure they get washed and dried later."
Then as if his body was mocking him in his attempts to appear well, he sneezed. It was small - rather quiet, but there was no way Hihara could have missed it when he was standing right there. He mentally cursed his weak body.
