lolfirst, because I'm lazy. /o/ kyudousha November 8 2009, 23:43:58 UTC
[She crests over the hill leading to the lake with equipment bundled under each arm. Well, not so much equipment as a prepared selection of aquatic specimen collection tools in a bag strapped to her back, a water cage under her left arm, and three fishing rods under her right.

Not to mention the dictionary of aquatic specimens and her beloved Biology of Paramecium textbooks jammed into her textbook holder, but that's another fact for another time. The thing being that she's prepared and looks pretty much as though she's packed for an inter-continental flight.

Catching sight of Spain by the edge of the lack, she ambles over, raising an arm gingerly as a manner of greeting. The water cage shrieks.]

You gonna help me load this stuff onto the boat, or what?

[Whether in Hinamizawa or here, Keiichi always manages to be late somehow and today is no different. Thankfully, he recently found a red bicycle so he can be seen biking up to where Rita and Spain are. He stops a couple of feet away and gets off obviously very excited.]

Man, I can't wait! Is it ready to go?

Yay laziness! <333 love_lostomates November 9 2009, 03:09:32 UTC
[Spain grins at Rita first, nodding, though her stuff...that'll be a little hard to fit, perhaps, but...They'll manage somehow.]

Yeah, of course I'll help!

[When Keiichi shows up, he laughs.]

Yeah! We'll just load up Rita's stuff and then we'll be ready to go!

[He looks again at Rita's equipment.]

Alright, what first?

[A nod towards Keiichi, since she's far too absorbed in her calculations to do much else. She hands over the fishing rods absently.]

The rods. The two of you are obviously going to help me collect things. So while I get water samples and run on-site experiments, you two can fish. The bait and tackle are in my bag - I'll unpack 'em later-

[A sudden jolt.]

That's a damn small boat. We're all going to fit in that? Seriously?

Alright!

[In response to Spain and then he actually gets a look at what all she is carrying. The stuff about samples and such went over his head. Keiichi was getting used to her scientific needs or whatever they are. He grabs one of the rods for himself.]

I didn't know we were going to fish too!

[As if he could look anymore excited, he somehow manages too. He looks towards the boat at what Rita said.]

It's not that small. Don't worry about it!

[Spain blinks at Rita, but then he shrugs.]

I don't think I could manage a much larger boat by myself, Rita. And since you'll be working on your samples and things, and I'll have to teach Keiichi how to work some of the parts too. But we'll fit, so it'll be fine, right?

[Then he picks up the remaining rod. He's not sure when he'll have time to fish, but maybe they'll stop in the middle of the lake, or something.]

Fffft- sorry guys. Really slow responses tonight. ;; kyudousha November 9 2009, 03:42:59 UTC
[She rolls her eyes at Keiichi, but the infectious atmosphere was definitely catching on. A grin.]

Well, then, if we run out of room for my specimens, you'll be the first to go overboard. Remember that.

[Turning to Spain, she grabs the water-cage, which shrieks dreadfully, and hands it over.]

Can you tie this to the... the helm, was it? Or was it the prow- whatever. That front part of the boat? Fish are gonna go in there when I'm not cutting them open. But yeah, if you say it's fine, I'm hoping it will be. You've got the experience - do what you have to do.

Don't worry, I'll probably be the slowest for a bit ._.; homerun_k1 November 9 2009, 19:22:52 UTC
[He will just be glaring at what Rita said to him. He turns to Spain with a grin though]

Is there anything I can do to help out?

>>; Looks like we're all being a bit slow this time around. love_lostomates November 10 2009, 02:49:50 UTC
[He blinks at Rita for a moment.]

You mean the bow? Yeah, we can put it there.

[Then he looks at Keiichi, even as he carries the equipment in his arms to the boat.]

Well, let's get Rita's stuff onto the boat first. Then...Hm...

[He pauses, climbing onto the boat quickly, despite the lack of available hands to use. Then he looks back at Keiichi again.]

I guess I'll just teach you as we go, alright? I'm sure that'll work!

Yeah. ;; kyudousha November 10 2009, 06:02:03 UTC
[Infectious, infectious. She clambers onboard with her bag, but not without some difficulty, seeing as, what, she's used to boats that lowered themselves to ground level by means of giant flying space whales.

A grin.]

Yeah, I'll leave wrestling with the boat to the two of you. Just don't sink it, or anything, and I think we'll be good to go.

Unfortunately ^^;; homerun_k1 November 10 2009, 22:14:40 UTC
Got it.

[Will be carrying some of the equipment on board the ship as well but will be struggling a little to actually get on board with all this stuff unlike Antonio >>;. He puts it all down and turns to Spain]

I don't mind.

...Forgive my sailing fail? ^^; love_lostomates November 10 2009, 23:41:09 UTC
[Spain just laughs as he organizes Rita's things so that they won't be in his way when he works the sails. Tripping over lab equipment would be rather bad, after all. He halts for a moment, determining the wind's direction, and then he turns to Keiichi.]

Alright, so, you'll need to keep an eye on the staysail while I tack the boat, alright?

[He points to the larger of the two sails, the one behind the one in front of the boat.]

Just let me know if any lines get tangled or if the sail does anything odd. It shouldn't, but it's better to be careful.

[Spain grins, and then he turns to the jib, or the smaller sail. He grabs the ropes and, as he manuevers the sail, the boat turns as well, until it's at 90 degrees to the wind. When it hits this point, Spain quickly ties the sail down, not too tightly, allowing the wind to be caught in the slightly rounded shape it makes.]

We're all on the same boat. ;D kyudousha November 11 2009, 00:05:55 UTC
[Organizing her equipment, lalala. Baiting the hooks, but refrains from casting them overboard, since it sounds like a bad idea to have hooks trailing when a boat is trying to set sail. Not that she would know, since she knew only how to work the damn thing in theory, and theory only stretched so far.

Oh. They were moving. She sits down abruptly, the rock of the boat unpleasant.]

And off we go. Yeah, just how far along are you guys planning on sailing this time?

Pretty much~ ^-^ homerun_k1 November 11 2009, 01:12:11 UTC
Got it.

[Keeping an eye on it like he was told to. Looks like everything is going good and then he hears Rita and has to think for a second]

...That's a good question. What do you think Antonio?

[When the boat is correctly angled to the wind, Spain walks back and grabs the sail he had instructed Keiichi to watch, giving the other a smile as he ties them down properly.]

It doesn't matter much, right? We can go out a little ways, and then we can stop so you can do your experiments if you want, Rita.

[The wind catches the sails now, and the boat picks up a little speed. As the weather is calm and sunny, the lake is not choppy at all, so the boat cuts through the water smoothly.]

[Peering off the side of the boat cautiously. She shrugs.]

Guess it doesn't. Hey, how fast can this thing go?
