Who: Rita kyudousha, The Sunset This is totally Oz's fault /sob and anyone who wants to enjoy it with her Where: In Somni, on a grassy hill somewhere When: After the festival Style: Anything goes Status: Open
[ Accordingly, I have an icon that says sunset After the party, Oz had needed some time to reflect and contemplate. Things were still running through his mind, but now that he had time to actually think, he could much more easily put that mask of indifference back up. ]
[ But that doesn't mean it still isn't showing and -- ...is that Rita? The unrest floods back and he has to swallow hard to get it from coming up his throat. Was she still upset with him? ... Why did it matter so much...? Quietly, he stepped closer, hands behind his back, saying nothing ]
[Like I said, all your fault, dammit. :/ It feels like an eternity since the last time she's seen these colors - no, it probably had been an eternity. Two weeks worth of blindness, and a lifetime's worth of blindness -- when was the last time she had looked, really looked to the sky like this, seen the sun's rays dip and the colors fall? When was the last time she cared? She's never cared. She can describe the colors of the sunset in congruence with the colors of chemical flame tests -- a sterile environment versus the plain sky, and for her then, it would have sufficed.
It brought back memories of that day on the rooftop, and his words. ... that a person with a better heart could feel the sun's warmth deeper inside them. That perhaps the light of the sun was a healing force beyond all recognition. For a brief second, perhaps she feels a spark of warmth in there somewhere, deep down where the light does not reach, but does, in all it's brilliance, shine
( ... )
[ /takes full blame, herher Oz blinks, hands dropping from behind his back to linger uselessly in the empty shape at his sides. He looks shocked that Rita's face isn't written over with anger, but instead -- something else. He blinks a few more times before laughing awkwardly, not being fake for once, but just uneasiness. ]
Ah, hello Rita! [ He partially lifts one hand in greeting, looking beyond her briefly to the sunset, and then back directly at her ]
[:/ Don't you 'hello' us, boy. :/ There's this one moment where she's just... staring like she can't believe what she's seeing. And then, she jabs her finger at him abruptly. There is restrained laughter in her voice.]
You! No questions. No buts. Just... get over here.
Spain enjoyed himself at the party, definitely, but...He found himself wandering away after a time, especially after finding out that it was a...a pirate party. He had nothing against the pirates they weren't the same, of course they weren't, but...It still left a bad taste in his mouth and the niggling feeling of discomfort forced him to wander away from the party after awhile.
He was wandering, just wandering, smiling to himself and looking up. Spain has always loved the sunset, the sunrise, the sun. And then he sees Rita. And grins and waves.]
[Dammit Spain. ;========; Now my heart's broken again. ;AAAAA; Oh, Spain /sob.
She turns at the sudden sound. It's-
Brown hair, and green eyes. Not a detail forgotten, not a detail mismatched. She remembers, and it's Spain. And suddenly, her heart's hilariously full, which doesn't even make any sense, because wtf that's such a weird feeling. :/ But she remembers the look of his face, and it lifts her heart.]
The smile on Rita's face. She looks so...happy, and it cheers Spain up as well, because...She hasn't seemed happy in so long, and partly he knows or feels that that is his fault--she had seemed so upset earlier when he had found her, and then his dream...
Well, Spain was just happy that she was happy. So he runs to meet her.]
Okay, so he's running towards her now. And she doesn't like it when people run towards her like that, because generally, people ran like that when they had a sword and wanted to fling it through their head. Doesn't help that he doesn't have pink hair and all, which makes her take a step back in surprise. Still, though, doesn't ruin her mood in the least. She lets out an amused breath.]
Heh. 'see', huh? Well, I'm pretty damn glad to see you too. Or anything, for that matter. Can you believe it?
[Jaina, meanwhile, was passing the moments in thought, a book - recently closed - in her lap.
A flicker of movement caught the sorceress' eyes, and she turned out of reflex to see Rita... running? Since that's quite the foolish thing to do if you can't see, she quickly puts two and two together, and can't help the smile on her face.
Jaina stands, following Rita at a bit of a slower pace. She's fairly certain she knows where the girl is headed (and indeed, she can now see the silhouette on the top of the hill) but she'll give her some time to take in the sight by herself. Still, she eventually makes it to the hill, slowly walking up it behind the young mage. Jaina wouldn't be surprised if Rita didn't notice her, actually.]
[She hears, she hears. The subtle approaching of the steps, and she doesn't even have to turn to know just who that presence belongs to. The subtle feel of the magic in the air, coupled by that dignified silence, no other could be attributed as such. But she turns anyway, and looks. Just looks.
Because she's never noticed the color of Jaina's hair, or the color of her eyes, or the manner of her dress, never truly looked at it, and she's been so afraid that she would forget. The colors, sensations, showcasing the little joys that can be found in the small details that she's never seen. Not purposefully, and certainly not truly.
[Rita really is a resourceful young girl. And that searching look on her face - the delight in *seeing* - and the barest flicker of a smile... it's so different from the haunted, almost frightened look that the girl had been wearing before, trying to deal with the blackness around her.
Jaina returns the smile without thinking.] Hello, Rita. I apologize if I'm disturbing your sunset.
[She can't help but snort a little. It's Jaina, and she can't take offense, but she doubts she can even if she could. The sun's setting and the night will come -- but now she knows that there will be dawn awaiting on the horizon.
Still though, it's still Jaina, and after their last conversation, she's not sure how to talk to her, really. Her voice comes out hesitant.]
No. No, you're not disturbing anything. So, um... you... want to watch it with me?
[Senri had been wandering through the village aimlessly, when he notices a figure run by in the next street. Fortunately, he actually manages to remember the girl and her request to find her again, so he trails after her. He doesn't really get what she's doing, but since when do details like that matter to him?
After taking a moment to appreciate the sunset, he heads over to her.]
[He remembers? /o/ She... hears his approach, and despite everything, becomes nervous when she cannot identify it by footsteps alone. She turns, and meets a most unfamiliar face. She pauses.]
Hey, she can see him nod now! /o/ Kind of a quiet guy, isn't he? She's trying to figure this out, but... her memory in terms of name-face recognition... leaves a lot to be desired, so to speak.]

*Ah, staring ... that means.*
... Is your sight back Rita?

It is. Isn't it great? I can see you now and it's all... you haven't changed a single bit.

Ah, I thought I lost some weight. A bit disappointing. *A giggle*

Wait, that's it? If that's all you have to worry about, then you're probably doing pretty well yourself.
Get over here and watch the sunset with me, okay?
