Rena's attempt at avenging Keiichi after his death had been a complete failure. Why did so many people try to stop her? Why couldn't they have just let her do what she needed to do. Either way, Rena was still feeling quite lost as to what she should do without Keiichi around.

Still wandering around with machete in hand, the sight that she now saw before her came as a very big surprise. It was Keiichi lying on the ground. Or at least, it looked like him. It could just be her mind playing tricks on her, she couldn't tell. She slowly approached him, not sure exactly what to say.

"...K-keiichi...?"

Crap, of all the people he could run into it had to be Rena. This was not good. He instantly turned to hide his arm from her view hoping that she wouldn't see it. Doing the only thing he could think of, he tried acting as normal as possible.

"Hey, R-rena." Even though he barely said anything, the fear was extremely evident in his voice.

Something was wrong. She could tell that he was hiding something with the way he was keeping his back to her. She took a step forward.

"Keiichi, what happened? We all thought you were dead."

That is exactly what he thought to, until he woke up here not being able to feel anything.

"I-I don't know. I just w-woke up here after..." He knew that he didn't need to finish his sentence. His voice is filled with terror, trying his best to keep himself under control.

She knew what he was going to finish it with though. He seemed so terrified and she couldn't figure out why. She tried to peer over to see what he was hiding when she saw a drop of something red fall.

"...why is Keiichi hiding his injury from me I wonder, I wonder."

Her words seemed to echo in his mind as Rena was starting to sound...mad? It couldn't be though, he must have imagined it. Rena isn't like that. Right?

"W-what injury?" He tries playing dumb hoping that she would drop it.

The thoughts of how Rena was acting and how this might just be his imagination were swirling around his head. Not even thinking, he took the hand that had dug into his own skin and clenched his head. He had no idea what to do. If Rena was paying attention, she would notice the blood covering his hand as well as the wound in his arm that was now open to see and put two and tow together.

Upon seeing the blood, Rena made a very audible gasp. It was happening to him too. And the self control he had before seemed to be almost gone now.

"No..." Rena reached out towards his wrist covered in blood. "Please, let Rena help you."

Being pushed to his limits of self control, he starts to mumble to himself.

"N-no...R-rena is...I don't..." At this point, this is all that is making him not snap at anyone.

She didn't want to push him over the edge but she had to do something.

"KEIICHI! Snap out of it! Please." She tried to gently put her hand on his shoulder.

Funny enough, that did. Taking a deep breath he tried to focus on what is happening and what he thinks is happening. It was a hard mental battle but for now it was subsided.

"...Sorry, Rena."

"Don't apologize, Keiichi. It's not your fault."

Seeing Keiichi in this state was hard to bare. Slowly, she wrapped her arms around him for a small hug.

"Don't apologize."

He couldn't stop though. For some reason this situation he is in felt so familiar it was scary. Not being able to control himself, lets a tear escape his eyes, but continues clutching his head.

The situation felt familiar to Rena too, but she couldn't remember why at the moment. All she knew was that Keiichi was the only thing keeping her check and if he broke as well...she didn't know what would happen. So she had to stop that from happening.

"Rena will protect you. I promise."

Seemingly calmed down, at least for now, Keiichi takes comfort in her words of protection. Although, he knows deep down that this is far from over. After all, there is no way to cure it, at least of what they know.

"...What do we do? Could a doctor really..." He trails off knowing Rena would know what he was talking about.
