Hakkai narrows his eyes as he fires yet another chi blast, this time at a four-foot spider that's approaching him looking quite dangerous. The spider screams at the impact and falls to the ground, not moving.
That overwith, he scans the corridor he's in for any other monsters-- for once, there are no (living) ones in the area.
That is, until he feels the ground shaking. He narrows his eyes. Something big outside is trying to knock the walls in.
"There's no end to them," he murmurs, bracing himself for another attack. Not that he wasn't used to that. It was almost just like old times, in fact.
So much for a safe house.
