[Lelouch glances over to Kallen, then to C.C., then down at his hands, then anywhere else he could possibly focus his eyes. He obviously had not thought this through before he sent Kallen the message to come to his home for refuge. It's not as if this had been the first awkward encounter involving these two women... but, for some reason, this just seemed particularly worse. He couldn't escape to his quarters, he couldn't corner C.C. and tell her to handle things, he couldn't give orders to Kallen to go do something... anything.

He sighs.

Asking C.C. her opinion before he sent that text message to Kallen would probably have been better. However, this was obviously the best situation, as undesirable as it might be. He just couldn't have let her stay there and end up getting injured as a result of his actions.

He looks back at Kallen and offers a strained smile.]

[C.C. blinked expressionessly from behind the large stuffed Cheese-kun plush; her legs crossed, one over the other, beside Lelouch. It wasn't that she didn't like Kallen, in fact, she considered her good entertainment. But they had parted ways in life, and to be back as if they were all still connected in some way was both odd and unnecessary in the Witch's mind.

She cast a hooded glance to Lelouch from the corner of her eye, well aware of his discomfort. She could read him like a book, and she knew now that he was regretting this, no matter how much he would have felt bad should he not have helped.

The urge to snarkily comment on this situation with her typical sarcasm rang up in her throat, but she felt it best that they were best to break this silence themselves. Besides, why do it when someone else can? ]

[Damn them. Kallen had been almost certain that at least C.C. would have some sort of smartass thing to say, but even than vain hope had failed. But whatever. This isn't her problem. They're the hosts, let them think of something.

She catches Lelouch's strained smile. Right--how to react? She humors him with a brief upturn of the lip, then settles back in her chair and folds her arms. Her face eventually settles into more of an annoyed purse, and her eyes flick between the two of them.

What the hell could she say, anyway? Had any good pizza lately? How's the Geass these days? Stupid, stupid.]

[What could he possibly say to either of these two to make this situation less... undesirable? He had nothing to talk about with Kallen and nothing that he would talk about with C.C. in Kallen's presence. This was certainly not good.

Not good at all, Lelouch.

He clears his throat and brushes some hair out of his eyes, using all power he possibly had to remain calm and collected. He couldn't let either woman realize he was in so much inner distress.]

I wonder how long we'll be confined to my basement...

C.C. however, is no ordinary woman, and her eyes follow his moves; easily intrepreting it]

*He never was good at dealing with both of as at the same time...*
[She thought amusedly, glancing at Kallen with a raised brow.]

There's no way of knowing. And knowing this world's rules, probably not when we want it to. [ She mused, twirling a long strand of lime hair between her fingers.]

[Well, that's something. Not much to go off of, but a good question. Personally, Kallen hopes sooner rather than later--and present company, she thinks, would agree.

She favors C.C. with a withered look.]

It'd be pretty stupid if the reason things like this happened was just to bother us.

[Including getting trapped with such awkward company.]

I'm fairly sure that there has to be a reason to why these things continue to happen, but I haven't the slightest as to what that reason could be. Maybe after things calm down, we can find something out.

[He glanced briefly at Kallen and then to C.C., giving her a look]

As long as we stay as safe as possible. I don't want either of you getting hurt.

[Lelouch's mind was a mess right now, but his mask was that of the cool and composed young man he usually showed to the public. He didn't know how much longer he could take this...]

[ C.C. glances at him with the same stoic expression, amusement briefly flickering in her stare. ]

In a world where nothing is in our favor, good luck finding something out.

[re-crosses her legs, raising an eyebrow to Lelouch's comment, a faint smirk on her face]

At this moment, we can't even leave the basement. I think I'll be just fine.

[Stay safe--he said the same thing before. It still makes her blush a bit.]

I… did fine looking after myself for a long time before you showed up, Lelouch.

A-anyway, I think it is a good idea to figure out what we can about this place.

[He laughs a little] From what I've gathered, that would require speaking with the Overlord, Kallen.

[C.C. caught the blush, and a sly look enters her eyes and vanishes]

...Apparently she only shows herself when she feels like it.

[Kallen is not amused.]

Well, there have to be some other people who know at least more than we do.

[She glares at Lelouch.]

And it was your idea to "find something out."

[He looks at C.C. before looking toward Kallen, a frown on his face] I know it was my idea to find something out... and I plan on it as soon as this storm dies down.

[exchanges a glance with Lelouch, eyeing Kallen almost boredly]

Perhaps you should start screaming her name? Maybe she'll come down and hear you.

[Kallen gives them both an annoyed look. She sighs, a little exasperated, and gets up out of her chair.]

I hate not being able to do anything. This damn storm just needs to end.

Have the winds not subsided yet? [He sighs and leans back on the bed] It's not as if we can do anything even when the storm does end. Approaching the Overlord without a strategy is foolish and nothing would come of it.
