Nearby, Kohaku was having his own kill-spree. He'd been moving through the city when a large horde of beasts had found him. Luckily, his magic had made short work of all of them. He was finishing off the last ones now.
"47...48...49...50!" They were done. But it was then that he heard the sand worm's call. Great. Another monster to deal with. But he had an idea.
Transforming into his dragon form, he zoomed around the corner. As soon as the sand worm came into view, he let out his own loud noise; a loud, primal-sounding roar. At that moment, as Kohaku flew by, he raised his small dragon arms and raked his claws across the sand worm's soft flesh. The scream of the creature was very satisfying.
A moment later, Kohaku floated down to the street, his eyes daring the monster to come. Amazingly, he hadn't even noticed the young man yet.
Nero was just about to charge in for an attack when this giant lizard thing flew ahead of him and attacked instead. He stood there in shock as the sand worm recoiled and shrieked in pain. Why was this monster attacking another monster?
Maybe it was friendly? Well, regardless it was still in his way. Any normal person would accept the help of a seemingly friendly giant lizard thing, but he wasn't normal and he was far too arrogant to let his kill get away.
"Hey, you!" He tried shouting over the loud wailing of the sand worm. It was still alive, and surely going to be pissed. All the more fun for him. "Go get your own sand worm!!"
Kohaku jumped in surprise, wheeling to face the young man he hadn't noticed before. For a moment, his eyes bored into the young man's. He...wanted to fight it alone? Maybe this boy was just one of those people who so enjoyed battles that they wanted to do it all on their own.
Well, he had another thing coming if he thought that. Making sure the boy saw it, he rolled his eyes and turned to face the sand worm, as if to say "This is MY sand worm."
Oh hell no. This giant over grown lizard just ignored him and rolled it's eyes at him. That was just totally not acceptable. It seemed to understand him so
( ... )
Nero's counting was abruptly interrupted by a double-throated roar and the crunch of bone.
A thick, red beast was busy at work just around the corner of the block. Claws and fists ripped and tore flesh, savaging chunks of meat from the front of a beached land shark. As the shark gave its dying shrieks, the two maws atop his thick shoulders bent down and began to devour those scattered, slapshod, messy pieces. Whatever the beast was, it didn't devour its meals in a neat or clean fashion. He had no regard for the mess he was making; instead, he simply ate, the blood flying every which way, and he would not relent until the shark was little more than bits of flesh and a splat on the pavement.
Nero's escapades were of no consequence to him when there was food on his plate.
As the loud roar echoed through the streets, he quickly disregarded the sand worm and walked around it. It was probably weak anyways. The worm, which wouldn't simply allow it's prey to just leave like that, buried itself back under the cracked street pavement and continued it's trek underground. It was sure to re-emerge and attack sometime soon, but that didn't matter right now.
What mattered was that roar. It was intriguing, it sounded powerful. Like a worthy challenge. Best of all, it didn't sound too far away. quickly making his way around the corner, his suspicions were confirmed.
There it was.
A giant red creature, smeared in blood and chewing...on a dead monster...
Well, that was disgusting.
Wanting to get a better look at this thing, Nero picked up the nearest rock with his Devil Bringer, the "rock" being a rather large chunk of a destroyed building, and chucked it the red demon's head. That should have been enough to get it's attention, and enough to surely piss it off. Oh well.
Agni felt something coming, but too late. The chunk clocked him in his left head (as he had two), eliciting a grunt of surprise from the beast as it tore off its latest stringy, chewy strip of flesh and turned around. He locked his eyeless gaze on Nero.
Him.
Agni recognized him, a low gurgling growl in his throat. Heat slurped and bared his bloody teeth, a patch of skin dangling from his right mouth like a piece of limp bacon. He lifted a clawed hand and rubbed the side of his left head, a comically human gesture. He couldn't say it devastated him, as Agni was particularly resilient against physical attacks, but it ached enough to be goddamn annoying.
"Bastard," snarled the demon in a deep, mighty voice. Perhaps Nero might recognize the tone as a certain red haired hothead's voice, but it was so distorted by his demonic vocal chords that the resemblance was in emotive quality alone.
"What the hell do you want? I've been waiting all week for a meal, dammit!" The sandstorm impeded him from devouring excellently. "Wait your turn."
My god, i'm so sorry for the constant edits lol.partlyblackenedSeptember 8 2009, 22:28:40 UTC
It definitely caught the demon's attention, the piece of debris clonking it on it's head. It turned to look at him...with no eyes? Well, at least it hit one of it's...heads? From the profile he had first saw the demon at, it looked like it only had one. Surprise surprise. He wasn't expecting that.
"Damn," he whistled lowly to himself, though he was sure this demon could probably hear him. "Aren't you ugly."
He began walking forward slowly, mostly just to show that this thing wasn't intimidating him in any way. Now that he was closer to it, he could fully see the shark's corpse, as well as the demon's bloody teeth. The scene in itself was pretty disgusting to look at, but the bloody red demon just made everything so much freakier.
Not that it mattered much to him.
"Didn't anyone teach you," he replied, completely ignoring everything the demon had said, his eyes planted firmly on the piece of dangling flesh between it's teeth. He stood his ground, grinned his cocky grin and crossed his arms. "That it's rude to talk with your mouth
