"Hello?" Frowning, Nagi walked slowly through the streets of Espoir, wooden geta clacking against cobblestones. He paused every few feet to survey his surroundings again. Whatever he'd expected from the afterlife, this wasn't it.
He could hear people in the distance, so he knew the place couldn't be entirely empty. It felt far too real to be a dream, not that he'd expected to be dreaming either. His clothes were the same as before - he was still missing his coat - but the collar he'd worn around his neck for the longest time now was gone. At the very least, he wasn't back in that prison.
"Is anybody here?"
