[Here, have a confused Rue]

What exactly is going on? This is quite the racket...Can anyone even hear me?

[she steps closer to the mansion ]

I wonder who lives here anyway...

[he's downstairs nursing his hand, but he has his back to the window and, as such, doesn't notice Rue standing out there. Feel free to come knock on the door, though, since that would get his attention.]

[knock knock]

[he looks up from his his bruised hand and heads over toward the door, opening it after looking to see who might have been knocking.]

Ah... can I help you, Miss?

Er...I was just wondering exactly what all the noise was.

Well, that and I thought I should make acquaintance with some of the other people here. I'm Rue. I'm a bit new here.

[polite curtsy]

My apologies for disturbing you, but it is a pleasure to meet you nonetheless, miss Rue. My name is Austria, or Roderich Edelstein if you prefer. I, ah... take it you haven't been here long?

Oh, it's no trouble. I was merely curious. It's nice to meet you too, Herr Edelstein. I've only been here for...about a month. It hasn't even seemed that long, I must say.

[she glances at his hand, noticing the injury] Oh, are you alright?

I see. I trust you've become acquainted with your surroundings well enough, then?[not that he knows his way around here that well, though]

[instinctively conceals his hand once attention is drawn to it.]

Ah, yes, I will be all right, you've no need to worry.

As well as I can.

Ah. If you're certain.

Pardon my intrusion, but what exactly is all that noise?

We were sorting through boxes that my wife found in the attic.

Aah. There must be a lot of stuff up there, then...

[genuinely curious; keep in mind this is pretty much a fairytale princess you're dealing with, so marriage is quite the fantastic idea to her]

So you're married then? How lovely for you both! What's your wife like? She must be lovely...

Is it just the two of you living here, then?

[well he finds her questions to be a bit odd, since he just met the girl, but he'll answer them for now, anyway.]

Ah... well, Miss Hungary is indeed a wonderful person, and I admit I am not certain what I would do if she were not around.

And no, one of my close acquaintances and his charge are staying here with us, as well.

[Rue doesn't think she's being odd at all. But then again, she did just confess her love to her prince in order to save him, so, uh, it's an interesting topic for her]

How lucky for you, then. How long have you been together?

Ah, I was thinking it was a bit large of an estate for just two people...at least compared to what I'm used to.

Ah, well, we have been married for 47 years now, though I have been acquainted with Miss Hungary for far longer than that.

[a pause, since lol he's used to having bigger houses thant his.]

This house is relatively small compared to my estate back home, really.

[she blinks, surprised. He doesn't even look like he's 47 years old, so how has he been married that long? And known his wife even longer than that? What? She won't ask, though, since that would be rude.]

Really? Wow...you must be royalty, then!

Ah... not exactly, no. My leaders are royalty, I myself am not.
