Miranda walked through the library, looking at the the many shelves with a slight smile. How she'd gone so long without coming here, she had no idea. She enjoyed reading; it wasn't a huge pastime of hers, but the books in her apartment had often kept her company after she'd been fired.
Then, after becoming an exorcist, she'd studied up on the Millennium Earl, Innocence, and the Black Order. She'd developed a slight interest in reading. Of course, being sent out for missions as an exorcist, she hadn't read a good book in ages. So here she was.
She started perusing the shelves, looking for something that interested her. She couldn't find any books in German, but there was one in what looked like English that looked promising. As she pulled it out and started to walk, she didn't keep her eyes on where she was going. You'd think she'd know better.
Her clumsiness acted up, leading to her stumbling slightly. Being the utter klutz that she was, she couldn't regain her balance, and she fell to the ground with a small shriek. As she hit the floor, her book flew from her hands and happened to land on the lap of a young man.
He jerked slightly when he felt the book hit him, and then he just stared at the woman who had completely wiped out, but somehow managed to get her book right on his lap... How the heck do you manage to have such precision, when you're that clumsy?
Miranda, who was slowly picking herself off the ground and trying in desperation not to feel humiliated, froze for a moment when she heard the voice.
Looking up, she saw the young man looking at her oddly. Automatically, she felt her face turn as red as flames and just as hot. Great. She'd managed to embarrass herself again.
"Y-yes, I'm fine. I f-fall down a lot, so I-I'm sort of used to it." she said, stuttering more than usual in her utter humiliation.
As Miranda successfully picked herself off the ground, she managed to regain control of herself. She felt her natural nervousness begin to fade back to it's normal levels, making her blush fade and her stutter vanish.
"I try. It's not easy when you're naturally klutzy and have terrible luck, though." she said, walking forwards and taking her book from him.

He held out the book to her. "Watch where you're going, and be more careful then."
