Haku happened to be taking his daily walk when he heard someone shouting out names.

When he saw the blond man, he smiled ruefully. "Another newcomer." he whispered under his breath. Well, if he needed help, why not give it to him?

He started to walk towards the man, a pleasant, concerned smile on his face. "Sir, are you alright? Do you need help?"

Sanji turned to regard the person, only to gape and how lovely the woman's face was. Where had this heavenly beauty come from, he wondered with his hands pressed against his chest.

Injuries ignored, his feet carried him with a dance in his step over to her. "I'm more than alright...Now at least.~" Such a pleasant smile, she had, even if it was concern. "My dear lady, perhaps you'd like to tell me where I am and your name, as well.~"

No prob. This will be worth it. >=3 precious_person July 18 2009, 20:33:35 UTC
Haku blinked in sudden surprise. Did this man just call him "lady?" Why on earth-

Then it made sense. How did he manage to forget so often that he looked like a woman? Unbelievable.

"Well," he said slowly, "You're in a dreamworld called Somarium. And my name is Haku." Then, he took a deep breath, and spoke slowly.

"Also, I think you're a bit mistaken, sir. I...I'm a man."

He listened to her explanation with adoring eyes. The names Somarium, dreamworld, and Haku were filed away for later examination. He was about to comment on how lovely a dream it was then if he was allowed to share it with such a ravishing woman.

Until that last part.

"-!!...Wh-wh-WHAT?!" It was possible he was going to fall over maybe even cry if the shock ever wore off. Why...why...why was life so unfair...Why did this man have such a lovely face?!

Sadly, Haku's slightly naive nature kicked in then; he assumed that the man was freaking out from being taken from his own world and dropped into Somarium. He put a sympathetic hand on his shoulder.

"Don't be upset. It's not so bad! It's actually sort of interesting, isn't it?" he said, hoping the man wouldn't make a huge scene.

Of course Sanji was too busy sulking to even realize what the man was even comforting him about.

"I-it's not fair...Why...You..." There was no way he could ever allow anyone, especially the shit-swordsman, to find out about this. No doubt he'd be laughed at for days and days to come.

Sniffing just a bit, though he passed it off as clearing his throat. "W-Well...Haku." There was even a grand show of dusting himself off and keeping his eyes away from the...man. "Sorry for the mistake."

Of course, Haku could be perceptive at times; he wasn't fooled for a second. He smiled comfortingly and reassuringly.

"Don't worry about it. Believe it or not, it's happened before; you're not the first to make that mistake." he said, with a touch of wryness.

Haku and his blonds~ blacklegcook July 18 2009, 22:02:56 UTC
Sanji didn't doubt that. The resemblance to a woman was so uncanny, even now it was still hard to believe Haku was male. Well no matter...he'd simply forget those strange turn of events (denial).

"Anyway, what was that about this being a 'dreamworld'?" Curled eyebrow arched, a bit skeptical, but not totally brushing off the possibility. They'd been to weirder islands than this throughout their travels.

Haku decided to put it behind him, as well. Considering his utterly feminine appearance, he had pretty much come to expect it.

"Basically," he explained, "when some people sleep, they come here. It's literally a dreamworld. Of course, it's not just sleeping that draws people in; I've heard of people who died and came here."

His voice shook ever so slightly when he said 'died', because he was one of those people himself, and the memory of his own extremely bloody death was fresh in his mind, even after over three months here.

"Sleep?" Well that hadn't been the case for him, whatever that shitty bastard did to him and the others literally sent them flying. The possibility it was death...No...He wasn't going to think that. There was a dream to fulfill and the girls to save. If he had been dead then these damn wounds wouldn't still be here. At least he'd hoped that was the case.

Either way it was clear the subject bothered Haku too, better to sidestep it for now. "If we're asleep like you say, then there has to be some way to wake us up." Pinching was out of the question, if it was something as simple as that Sanji was certain Haku would have left a lot sooner.

"Anyone ever bothered trying? There are others in this shitty place, right?"

Haku nodded, a bit relieved that Sanji hadn't called him on his verbal slip-up.

"There are many others here, and a good deal of them have tried to leave. But there's an impenetrable barrier around Somarium, and the only person who can get rid of it is up there."

He punctuated this statement by jerking a thumb upwards, towards the floating castle.

"What the hell is that?!" That shocked him more than the whole man thing, causing him to stand up and to regard it with wide eyes. Castles in the sky, well okay...He'd seen a whole island in the sky, but that still didn't stop his amazement for not noticing it sooner.

The 'enemy' or someone, apparently lived up there. Relaxing; he started considering possible means to reach it.

"Hm..." Striking a match, he lit a fresh cigarette as he regarded it. "At this distance..." His words trailed off quietly. First he'd have to get mended to bother the attempt, and second he'd need someone else for it as well.

Sanji gave smoky exhale, for now he'd have to find a place to stay until he could think of a plan. "Alright...You think you can point me to the nearest vacant house? My leg's killing me and I still need to find my friends." Yes, better to have a base to work from, than run around recklessly.

"Well," Haku said thoughtfully, "this village has some cottages that are free. And Somni-" he pointed towards the city. "-has some apartment buildings that are filled with empties."

He paused for a moment as he glanced at Sanji's leg. He knew that just a bandage wouldn't be enough to help that; it needed attention from a doctor.

"You should probably go to Naomi Hunter's cottage. She's a good doctor; she can help you with that leg."

What he'd seen from here of the city didn't really appeal to him, such high rising buildings; it reminded him of when they went to Enis Lobby. The cottages on the other hand, those were more to his liking. Simple yet quaint, more of a homey feel. A nice place to have a family one day~. Well...If this place were real that is.

"Naomi?" That sounded like a girl's name, his eye sparked in interest...At least he hoped it was this time. There was no need for another near heart-attack.

"And where could I find Naomi-san's cottage?" A female doctor, his own dreams wouldn't end. He wondered if there was a way to convince Chopper that a nurse was definitely needed.~

"That way." Haku said, pointing in the direction of Naomi's cottage. "Down this road, there's a field. Her lab is in it. If there's anyone who can help you with that, she can."

This guy wasn't too bad. Sanji thought he may even grow to like him as a friend of sorts, since he was so helpful.

"Thank you." He graced him with a sincere smile. "I'll see you around, Haku." With a simple wave, he turned, keeping his strides slow; there was no need to aggravate the wounds. Perhaps he'd consider making the man a meal later on, as thanks if they did meet again.
