Dean Winchester was not where he was supposed to be. He wasn't being torn apart by the Hellhounds, and as soon as he was conscious Dean discovered that he wasn't in hell (or so it seemed).
He was in a city, in what seemed to be the slums of it. But it was a wreck, the buildings were crumbling and dust seemed to hang in the air. It looked like a war zone to the brunette and with his increasing paranoia he was eager to get out of this part of the city.
This certainly wasn't what he imagine Hell to be like, and Dean was on guard for every step he took. Better to be safe then sorry, and any demon could pop out from an alley way and get him. This could still be Hell afterall, appearances could be deceiving.
As Dean walked, he spotted a long piece of steel underneath a pile of bricks and wood. He headed over to the pile and pulled the make-shift weapon out of the rubble. He couldn't be walking around without a weapon, not in a place that looked like it was bombed. If there weren't demons, it could be a complete warzone.
As he continued on, the buildings started to look more normal and soon the rubble was simply behind him.
Dean came to the conclusion that he'd woken up in a part of the clums that wasn't currently being fixed when he saw people bustling about, moving scraps of wood and cleaning up the disaster.
Suddenly he felt like he could breathe easier, obviously this wasn't hell if people were functioning normally. Deciding he didn't want to look like a complete weirdo, Dean dropped the weapon in his right hand and continued on. He didn't want to approach the group of people, so he kept on in hopes that he'd run into just one person who could tell him where he was. He could defend himself better against just one.
This of course wasn't the weirdest thing that ever happened to the older Winchester, but it was certainly high up on the list. Hopefully he'd figure things out and be able to find his little brother.
