Sumeragi followed the signal on the Dreamberry to Naomi’s cottage. After the other woman’s dream, she had offered to keep her company. In all honesty, she wasn’t quite sure why she had made an effort to help the doctor. As much as Sumeragi was a kind person, she was still not accustomed to the dream world, and knowing that there were creatures out there, such as those that had been displayed in Naomi’s dream, made her less likely to want to leave her apartment.
But she was curious. Sumeragi wanted to know as much about the species of Somarium, as well as the experiences of others who had appeared there. There was that, and perhaps one other thing. She had been a bit lonely. It was, of course, nice to have most of her crew from the Ptolemaios there, but she was slightly older and most of them had formed romantic bonds with each other, leaving her to feel a little… uncomfortable. The last thing she wanted to do was be intrusive. Not that she had any interest in love or relationships, but it still wasn't a pleasant feeling to always be the one on the outside looking in.
She had begun to drink more than she would have liked. However, it was not because she was trying to escape her past this time; it was more so that she wished to escape her boredom. Being a peaceful world, Somarium, with its primitive technology, held little interest for the Tactical Forecaster. There was only so much exploring she could do before she reached the barriers. And, while she wanted to procure a pass to see the outside, she had heard it was dangerous. Somarium did look peaceful at a first glance, but there were other forces that made it unsafe, and with little resources for her to rely on, there wasn't much that she could do to change that. At least, for the moment...
As the cottage came into view, she pocketed the Dreamberry and stepped up to the door. Seeing a light on inside, Sumeragi cleared her throat and knocked loudly.
