This was perplexing. Ruby couldn't remember there being any place like this in Hoenn, nor did he recall a floating castle in the sky (though the idea of floating buildings was not completely lost on him). Looking around at the field that was deserted, save for a few scarecrows, he decided that he was lost. Very lost.
Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw something move. One of the aforementioned scarecrows was slowly lumbering towards him. Was it actually some sort of wild Pokémon? Grabbing his Pokédex out of his pocket, he pointed it at the creature (?).
"What do you mean, no data?"
He stared at the screen of the pocket-sized computer with increased confusion. Well if it isn't a Pokémon, then what exactly WAS it? Reaching instinctively for the Pokéballs kept at his side, Ruby was quite shocked to find that... well, he didn't have any. He flexed his fingers nervously.
"Well," he said, his voice flat as he tried to take in all of this at once. "This is no good."
