Six months.

It had been six months since he had seen any of his family... and he had lost hope in ever seeing them again. He had started to create a new life here, one he could be okay with... though he still thought of his family often.

And to see Alice's face over the Dreamberry...

He didn't know whether to laugh with happiness or sob with despair. He wanted his family here, and yet he didn't. Didn't want to damn them to this strange world where very little make sense and people could never just leave when they wanted.

Especially Alice. Alice who had Jasper, who had been so glad to finally have a family.

Edward ran as fast as he could, catching a familiar scent... a familiar murmur of thoughts as he headed towards the fields. There, sitting on the ground, was Alice... more despondent than he had ever seen her.

He was before her in an instant, kneeling... his hands placed on top of hers.

"Alice," he whispered, "it's really you."

Of course, she saw him coming before he actually got to her. The vision slipping quickly before her eyes. So she had some time to try to feign a smile and cheer up.

But as soon as she saw him, her face lit up and she wrapped her arms around him. "Edward." She breathed his name like an answered prayer. Pulling back, she searched his face for answers. "I can't believe this. What's going on? What happened?"

Edward was still trying to get over the fact that his sister was sitting before him.

As she pulled away, he sat down next to her, mentally steeling himself for her reaction. "Alice, you've entered a place called Somarium. It's a world people enter through their dreams... at least, in theory. Considering we don't dream, I've no clue how I ended up here. No one truly knows how they get here or how they get back. I've actually been here for six months now."

He looked up at the sky, stretching his legs out before him. Then, looking back at her, he said, "Tell me what you want to know. I'll answer anything. We can also go somewhere else if you'd like..."

"... six months?" She couldn't hold back the look of disbelief. "That's not... I mean I was just with you." Others had already explained the whole dream thing. Alice didn't really know what to believe about that. "Are you sure this isn't some sort of... trick? Or maybe I'm dead."

Alice stared at the sky for a long moment, trying to process her thoughts as carefully as she could, without overloading her brother."So you... you dream?"

WAIII! WUT THE CRAP!? Needs moar tags. livebythebottle June 9 2009, 12:42:14 UTC
She was bent over a stalk in the fields gathering a bit of soil as a sample. Sumeragi didn't intend to do much with it, but if Feldt couldn't tell her more about the land by the samples she had collected, then she would find a scientist who could. Hearing a rustling sound to the left of her, she froze. Sumeragi had not seen any animals since arriving in the Dream World. But if there were crops and trees, she imagined that there would be some type of animalia, especially in the village. Her eyes narrowed in the direction of the sound.

"H-Hello?" Maybe if it heard her, it would scamper off.

Alice didn't startle easily. Actually, Alice didn't startle at all. Her power guaranteed that. But when she heard the voice in the field, she actually jumped in surprise.

"Hello?"

A woman? Sumeragi wasn't sure why the other woman might be in the field, unless she had similar ideas about collecting data, but she wasn't the type to pass judgements on others. Certainly not when the people in Somarium had come from different worlds. "Are you all right over there?"

Was she alright? Alice didn't know how to answer that question. Physically, she was alright, no harm had come to her. But mentally? She was a mixed up jumble of emotions. If Jasper had been around, he'd be begging her to calm, even helping her to do so. And Alice gave a shaky sigh when that thought went through her mind. She'd never see Jasper again.

"I... I don't really know." Her voice was soft but high pitched, fitting for a girl of her size.
