Out exploring Somarium, Harconin in hand, Seras wanders down a random street. She comes up to a bar that looks to have been recently occupied. "Uh.. h-hello? Anybody home?"

Ah the sound of a lady?

"It's open," Raven said casually, though his voice shifted from his usual laidback tone back to his old formal, crip clear voice, leaning over the front counter.

"New arrival?" he grinned.

Cautiously stepping inside,
Seras did a quick check of the premises. There was no reason to assume this man was malicious, but the fact remained that she still didn't know how she ended up here. Wherever *here* was.

"I supposed you could say that. Although I'm not exactly sure where I've arrived. Last thing I remember, I was asleep in my.... bed." She figured she ought to just leave it at that for now. Not exactly any reason to stir up suspicions.

Unfortunately, she was dealing with a guy who had grown used to noticing such slight hesitance in speech to be a bit curious. Especially how she entered the tavern as if there could be some hidden dangers lurking around.

But Raven wasn't going to probe immediately. They usually end up saying something that would let him wheedle in.

Instead he gave her a casual grin, not moving from his spot. "You don't say? Well, I can tell you that you'll probably not believe it when I say you're in another world."

"Another world? How so?" she thought back to the fact that her master had just returned from another world. She just couldn't fathom how she ended up in one herself. And this certainly didn't seem like the place Alucard had been in. "Actually, you'd be surprised what I'd believe, given good enough cause."

"Really," Raven said, eyebrows raised before straightening.

"Well have a seat, and I'll tell ya all ya need ta know. Well, as much as I know, that is."

He shifted over to the back counter. "Got a preference in drink?"

"Ah..uh.um..." Shite. Now what? She couldn't really have expected to walk into a pub....tavern... whatever and not be asked what she drank. Now for a quick decision. How much to reveal. It suddenly occured to her she didn't have any money to pay for a drink. This may actually be a fortunate thing for once.

"Oh uh... I'm not much of a drinker....and uh... I've seem to have misplaced my wallet anyhow."

Raven blinked before laughing and after a bit of movement, a small glass of lemonade with a straw and a small umbrella found its way sliding over to her.

"Don't worry about it. Ya don't have to pay for anythin' around here. Well, for this place at least. Some places ask for dreams," he said as he leaned against the counter.

"Oh. Well, uh. Thanks." She didn't want to be rude, but now she was stuck with a drink that she normally would not consume. Oh well, might as well just do her best.

"Pay with dreams? How the hell does that work?" She took the tiniest sip of her lemonade.

Maybe should have gone for water? Women could be hard to read sometimes. That and the fact it had been a while since he did this sort of thing. It probably didn't help that Raven didn't know she was a vampire and thus wouldn't even drink anything to begin with. Oh well, it was the thought that counted, right?

"Ya just dream. And more likely than not it'll show up on this little gadget," Raven said as he held up his Dreamberry, the phone now looking rather sleek and black.

lol she would drink SOMETHING of his ;) 1bittn2shy November 13 2008, 05:57:14 UTC
She could sense she was confusing the man. She did appreciate his kindness. She took a slightly bigger drink of the lemonade.

"Oh... the PDA... one of these showed up on me when I woke up here. How the hell does it record my dreams. Are you sure of that?" She blushed slightly thinking of all the dreams she'd had and would rather not share with others.

"Oh. The name is Seras, by the way. And you are?"

Raven just mentally shrugged it off. Hit and miss, s'what was gonna happen.

"PDA? I guess that's what these things might be called in your world. Here, they're called Dreamberries apparently." Raven raised a brow at her blush and couldn't help but grin teasingly. "And I'm very sure. I've seen plenty of them and had a few myself." Though not all of them he had wanted to see or share. Good thing for filters...however the hell those worked. He still hadn't quite figured it out. It just...happened.

"I'm Raven," he smiled. "Pleasure to meet you, Seras."

LOL I was j/k. I said I wasn't going to go around biting everyone XD 1bittn2shy November 13 2008, 15:21:23 UTC
"But...I..I.. I DIDN'T MEAN I HAVE DREAMS LIKE THAT!!!!"

Now she was really blushing. Did anyone really believe that in all those years she had never had a naughty dream about Pip? She was certainly over reacting to something Raven might not even be implying. Guilty conscience.

She tried to compose herself somehow hoping Raven hadn't noticed her flushed red cheeks. Good luck there.

"So why does this place care about dreams? And is this stupid little 'Dreamberry' really going to record all my dreams? I hope not. and I suppose the more important question is how did I get here, and how do I go about getting myself home?"

STILL PASS XD notjustanoldman November 13 2008, 20:26:47 UTC
Raven could only laugh a bit at her reaction. He of course noticed. "Sure you don't, Seras. Sure you don't," he grinned.

"Well," he said as he moved to lean back against the back counter. "This place is called a dream world. Somarium, to be precise. And it seems the ghosts who run this world have a taste for them. As for getting back home...good luck there. I've heard of one or two people managing to leave, but no one knows how. Perhaps it's just based on the whims of the Overlord," he said with a slightly spooky tilt to his voice.

oh noes! D: I just realized that could have been taken in a really dirty way that I DID NOT MEAN! 1bittn2shy November 14 2008, 04:20:23 UTC
"Dream world? So I'm just dreaming of you right now? But ghosts.... so if there's ghosts here wouldn't it be some sort of heaven or hell? Or seeing how people have managed to leave, perhaps purgatory?"

"The Overlord? That sounds like a... powerful sort of title..."

"Tell me more about this Overlord person. Any idea why they would want us here to begin with?"

"Well, it's seems more like a world that's made out of dreams and is usually entered via people dreaming," Raven said thoughtfully. "Besides, I don't know anyone who has come here through death. I know I was very much alive when I came here." Well, kind of. But he was technically alive, so. "It wouldn't be a surprise if other people came in through other means though, since there seem to be many types of worlds around. Or if someone comes in through death."

"As for the Overlord...well. Not a lot is known about her, either. She seems to have a lot of power though, and can manipulate things with her own will. However," he quickly added, raising an index finger to the air, "it seems more like she's just watching over us."

He mused over her third question for a moment. "I'm not sure why we were brought here. A few of us are trying to figure that out, but we haven't had much luck. Information about this world seems to be locked up tight. If it even exists. We do know, however, that people have lived here before. We just have no idea ( ... )
