Great, just what he needed, some strange creature. Though at least it hadn't attacked yet, he sure wasn't going to let it do anything too bad if it wasn't friendly.
At least it wasn't threatening him outright, so he wouldn't attack it right off, who knew what it could be and he was well aware that there were at times monsters that were friendly.
But he definitely stood up very quickly the moment the creature appeared and he was quite ready to use any of his magic if it did threaten him right off.
From the reaction, Rune could make one of two guesses. Either this creature was friendly, or it was a very dangerous tricky sort of creature that pretended to be scared when it wasn't.
In case it was the second, he was going to be careful, but he wouldn't outright threaten the creature. After all, it could be like the Musk Cats and very friendly and even helpful. Of course, they could actually talk and that made things easier.
"So do you talk? And if so, do you have a name then?"
Great, some creature who couldn't talk. But it hadn't attacked yet, so he could relax a bit more.
Obviously it understood him, it was able to respond to yes or no questions at least, that could be at least somewhat useful, actually more than one would think. People tended to discount animals thinking them unintelligent, but he knew for a fact that wasn't always the case. In fact he knew very well that one such creature had helped save his own world in the past. That particular creature could talk, but many who saw him now just considered him to be a pet that Alis Landale had.
Of course, right now this wasn't going to help because he couldn't figure out a way to word his questions in a way that could be answered with yes or no, other than if he would be able to go home again. But he could ask about this little creature.
Okay, progress, the little creature was a friend at least for now.
Rune debated if seeing if the creature could answer by writing would help, but really, he wasn't sure if he would be able to understand. Already he could tell, this wasn't anywhere in Algo. True, he'd learned of a planet he hadn't been aware of, but it was doubtful that was the case here. He'd at least see something remotely familiar, and that wasn't the case.
"Well, I'm Rune, if that matters to something that can't talk. Do you have a name I can call you or am I going to have to make something up?"
And it seemed they were at an impasse. The creature had a name, but either would not or could not tell it in any way. And truly, he was out of questions that could be answered with a yes or no for the time being.
Hakuryuu didn't know what to do, but he hoped that Rune wouldn't get upset about this. Nevertheless, he flew over to Rune, and wrapped himself around Rune's shoulders.
Rune couldn't help but be a bit startled by this, but more because he wasn't really the type to allow anyone or anything really to touch him. Well, Alys was an exception, but she was a very close friend.
He sighed. He was probably going to just have to deal with it. Though really, it was embarrassing to say the least to have some small drgaon wrapped around him. But he could well offend someone or something really powerful if he outright refused too.
And who knows, it was a small creature, maybe it got tired from having to fly with those small wings and just wanted to rest.
"Fine, you can sit there, for now at least. I just hope I won't make someone mad by letting you do this, whatever your name may be."

"Kyuu!" he chirped happily.

"So you can talk, well kind of." Rune said, with a bit of a smirk. "I'm going to guess that means you like using me as a perch."

"Look, you can perch there, but none of that."
He had to admit, he was starting to understand a bit better what Alis may have dealt with having a Musk Cat as an ally.
