Nirvana was nothing like he'd expected.
Everything was so dry, for one thing. Bits of leaves crackled underfoot, dried up from the lack of constant rain, no doubt. Bat was still rubbing at his eyes, unused to the overall brightness of his surroundings

So, she decided to be friendly, as others had been friendly to her when she'd first appeared, and crossed the street over to him. Yukiko smiled politely. "Can I help you?"

He had plenty of questions for her (and the beast within was anxious to see how well such soft flesh melted on his tongue), but the first thing he found himself doing was holding out the device. "What's this? Who are you?"
Reply
"I'm Yukiko Amagi. ...that's a Dreamberry. It's sort of like a phone. You can use it to call people, or to record messages."

"How do I work it?" He frowned at her. Speaking of girls looking like Sera... "And is this Nirvana?"

She held up her own Dreamberry - of course, it looked like a cell phone, so the two weren't exactly identical... but the function was largely the same. "I can show you how to work it, if you'd like."

Bat didn't like being at the mercy of this woman, but he had to get some answers and she was currently the only one that could offer them. He held the device out to her with a curt "Show me." One hand gripped the handle of one of the daggers slung on his lower back, telling her without words that he expected to get it back.

Of course, when he went to grab the handle of what was unmistakably a dagger, Yukiko started to really, really wish that she had Amaterasu. This... was not the best situation she'd ever been in. She didn't even have her fans...
She took a half-step backwards, but otherwise stood her ground. "N-not until you... let go of that." She held up her own Dreamberry cellphone, trying to show him it. "I...I can show you on mine just fine, okay...?"

But he still had to rely on her for questions, so he shoved the demon back again. His hand fell away from his dagger and he pulled the Dreamberry back. It didn't look exactly like hers. Would her instructions still work?
"The word sounds familiar," he admitted, "but I can't say I really know what you're talking about." He shook his head. "It doesn't matter. Just get on with it."

Of course, all the while, she kept sneaking looks at the daggers on the man's back. If he was so obviously unstable... she didn't want to provoke him, or threaten him, or anything that would set him off, so she just kept speaking as calmly as possible, hoping it would soothe whatever temper he had.
She'd have to excuse herself as soon as possible.

"Show me." He smirked again. "Call someone up on it. Call your leader. I'd like to speak with him or her."
Reply
"...I don't have a Leader." It was true, technically. "You can try yours out for yourself if you want to."

"I don't trust you," he said simply. "You're too much like her." All the same, he began testing some of the options on his Dreamberry, keeping an eye on her the whole time he did so.
There was a list of names. He didn't recognize most. (There was someone named "Hungry?") A few made him pause, though. He knew the names of a few of the Embryon, though he rarely called them by them. To have them on this list as well...
"Am I listed on this?" he asked suddenly.

"I... don't know," she said reflexively, looking at her Dreamberry and thumbing through it, looking for a name she didn't recognize - there were several. "What's your name? Maybe I can find it?"
Or... maybe it would be best if she just got going.
Like, now-ish.
Reply
"Do I automatically show up in that and are others able to find me?" Because that would be a problem, if the Embryon noticed first.
