The first thing Dojima spotted as he arrived at the scene was his ex-partner hurling. Well, that certainly leaves an impression. Despite them not getting along, Dojima knew when there were emergencies where grudges had to be set aside.

"Adachi, what's going--"

The second thing he registered was the blood and that awful smell. A hand flew to his mouth instantly, gritting his teeth to keep from gagging.

"What the hell?!"

It was actually one of the first things Dojima noticed, but he doesn't say anything about it. Not the time.

He walked past Adachi, scoping out the scene as he walked up to the door, motioning the other man along. Walk and talk; waste no time. Workaholic mode, here.

"Where are they now?"

Dojima examined the door as they were close enough (having to dodge his way around blood, yuck), actually nodding in agreement. Drawing his own gun, he checked the handle, giving a loud few knocks upon finding it locked. (Which is good, of course.)

"Naomi? It's Dojima. Adachi is here with me."

Naomi pressed herself up against her front door, raising her voice just loud enough so the two men outside could hear her.

"Are they still out there?"

There was a soft click of the door unlocking as Naomi opened the cottage's front door an inch, peeked out at the two men, and then opened it fully.

The woman, her legs shaking unsteadily underneath herself, stood silent for a moment, regarding both Adachi and Dojima. Her red eyes trailed behind them down to the ground outside of her house. Though Vamp's body was gone, the thick splotches of blood on the ground did nothing to ease the doctor's hysteria.

Biting down on her bottom lip, the woman flung herself into Adachi's chest, closing her eyes against the terror she couldn't get out of her mind.

Dojima stepped back, a little surprised by this scene as well. But he was silent, gun lowered at his side, gaze elsewhere. He could draw his own conclusions about just how comforting of a guy Adachi was, but he didn't know how accurate they'd be. The detective didn't know anything about their relationship, and almost wouldn't care to, if he wasn't worried for Naomi's safety. But she seemed confident that she could handle herself, so he didn't push the matter.

Though Naomi had always prided herself on being a strong woman, she could barely stop herself from clutching tighter onto Adachi as visions of Vamp's mutilated body flooded her head. She had never cared for the Romanian man, by any means, but there had been a bond between them nonetheless. How many times had he been there to throw himself into danger to save her?

And what would she do now without him? The doctor was smart enough to know she had made just as many enemies in Somarium as she had made friends. It was only a matter of time before one of them came after her now knowing she was unguarded. Beneath her dark lashes, her tear-filled eyes hardened as they flicked up to glance at her boyfriend.

She would finally have to put him to good use.

Her mind frantically preparing plans for the future, she purposefully hushed her voice, nodding meekly. "Yes, Tohru... I'd appreciate that. I'd rather not be alone right now."

Oh, Dojima noticed that look, Adachi. Holstering his gun, Dojima crossed his arms, surveying the two, then the mess, then the floor.

"Well, if things are settled here, I should get back to Nanako."

Sorry Adachi, but simple toleration is all you're getting from Dojima. Though he wonders if Adachi is the right person to keep Naomi company, she seemed rather sure of it back at the cafe when they talked.
